Branded A Witch, Old Woman Forced To Live Under Tree Outside Village
Millennium Post ^ | 2/24

An elderly woman was driven out of her village on the allegation of practising witchcraft. Accusing the woman of killing people with black magic, the villagers beat her up by the villagers and also looted her properties. She is now staying under a tree, just outside the village. The incident took place at Ausgram's Sukhadanga in Burdwan district.

A local source, however, informed that a Kangaroo court was convened to ascertain the fate of the elderly woman. The court directed the villagers to drive the woman out of the village. However, the Ausgram Police Station said they have not received any complaint. But they will definitely look into the matter.

It was learnt that a villager, Sanyasi Hansda informed the other villagers that the woman is a witch. He also added that she practices witchcraft every night with the intention to kill the male persons of the village.

Just a day after Sanyasi informed the villagers that the woman is actually a witch, Sanyasi's daughter fell ill.

The girl was suffering from an unknown fever and was taken to a rural health centre. The health workers could not do anything as the girl died there.

Sanyasi and his wife Lakshmi took their child's body to the aged people of the village. They alleged that the elder woman, who is a witch, killed their daughter.

They also alleged that their daughter fell ill after the elderly woman took her on her lap.

However, the village headman decided to convene a Kangaroo Court to decide the fate of elderly woman.

The Kangaroo Court directed her to give Rs 1.20 Lakh to Sanyasi and Lakshmi but the woman said that she cannot give away such huge amount due to her financial conditions. The court then reduced the amount to Rs 10,000 but that amount was also impossible for the woman. She said that she only has Rs 500 which she was ready to give away.

You would think that if she were a bona fide witch, they would bend over backwards to avoid making her angry.

Sir Bedevere: There are ways of telling whether she is a witch.
Peasant 1: Are there? Oh well, tell us.
Sir Bedevere: Tell me. What do you do with witches?
Peasant 1: Burn them.
Sir Bedevere: And what do you burn, apart from witches?
Peasant 1: More witches.
Peasant 2: Wood.
Sir Bedevere: Good. Now, why do witches burn?
Peasant 3: ...because they’re made of... wood?
Sir Bedevere: Good. So how do you tell whether she is made of wood?
Peasant 1: Build a bridge out of her.
Sir Bedevere: But can you not also build bridges out of stone?
Peasant 1: Oh yeah.
Sir Bedevere: Does wood sink in water?
Peasant 1: No, no, it floats!... It floats! Throw her into the pond!
Sir Bedevere: No, no. What else floats in water?
Peasant 1: Bread.
Peasant 2: Apples.
Peasant 3: Very small rocks.
Peasant 1: Cider.
Peasant 2: Gravy.
Peasant 3: Cherries.
Peasant 1: Mud.
Peasant 2: Churches.
Peasant 3: Lead! Lead!
King Arthur: A Duck.
Sir Bedevere: ...Exactly. So, logically...
Peasant 1: If she weighed the same as a duck... she’s made of wood.
Sir Bedevere: And therefore...
Peasant 2: ...A witch!

From the headline, I figured it was South Africa’s BLM-equivalent student movement, but the names suggested otherwise.

“also looted her properties”

Apparently they’re not concerned that her valuables may be “bewitched”.

This is so similar to another recent story (possibley #fakenews)

An elderly woman was driven out of San Francisco on the allegation of practising witchcraft. Accusing the woman of voting for Trump, the villagers beat her up and also looted her properties.
She is now staying under a tree, just outside the village.
A local source, however, informed that a Kangaroo court was convened to ascertain the fate of the elderly woman.
Soros directed the villagers to drive the woman out of the village.
However, the San Francisco police said they have not received any complaint. But they will definitely look into the matter (wink, wink).
It was learnt that a villager, Nancy Pelosi informed the other villagers that the woman is a witch.
She also added that she practices witchcraft every night with the intention to kill the minority persons of the village.
Just a day after Pelosi informed the villagers that the woman is actually a witch, someone's daughter fell ill after ingesting a lot of illegal drugs.
The girl was suffering from an unknown fever and was taken to a rural health center thanks to the ACA. The health workers could not do anything because Trump doesn't like the ACA and the girl died there.
Pelosi took the child's body to the aged people of the village. They alleged that the elder woman, who is a witch (i.e. Trump voter), killed the girl.
However, the village headman decided to convene a Kangaroo Court (the 9th circuit) to decide the fate of elderly woman.
The Kangaroo Court directed her to give $120,000 to Pelosi but the woman said that she cannot give away such huge amount due to her financial conditions. The court then reduced the amount to $100,000 but that amount was also impossible for the woman. She said that she only has $500 which she was ready to give away. Citing precedent from Christian baker/photographer/florist cases the court took all her money and she can't afford to live in the town.

Under the tree is better than under the sod, which is where many of her predecessors ended up.

If she were a real witch, they’d be kissing her butt and bringing her presents rather than beating her up and kicking her out of the village. With that, they know she isn’t a witch. Horrid villagers. May curses be upon them for the next seven generations.
