I have a funny horse vet story: I had a new client (a 17-year-old! thoroughbred), whose owner called me in a panic because he came up lame and her vet was on vacation. I said, relax, I have another on speed dial. The vet shows up, and has me walk the horse around the paddock while the he watched and spoke to the owner.

I finish, and walk up to vet. He looks at me, then the horse, then me again. He then says, "well, I can see you've gained weight, rudeboy." I still chuckle when I think about it. And the beauty of the comment was that it set the owner's mind at ease, because she knew then that her horse's groom wasn't new to the "terrain."
