The Donald should have post-dated the order by 24 or 48 hours. No upside to inconveniencing possibly innocent travelers.

That would have avoided all those in-airport sob stories, wherein the ACLU comes to the rescue winning a restraining order from a federal judge, and the MSM goes wild with human interest features about the poor moon-god worshiping victims.

As for Secretary Mattis, the order should have included a Pentagon contact to verify exceptions ...

Whose defense secretary is Jim Mattis? Obama's? Trump's? a temporary holder of the post? What?

I absolutely agree. If true, this is disconcerting, especially in context with Mattis’ views on Israel. I know I am in a minority here, but I don’t trust Mattis at all, and I certainly do not agree with his views that Israel defending herself is a problem.

All the pundits and those who comment need to be aware of the fact that THEY DON'T HAVE ALL THE INFORMATION that the Nat Security Team does. There is likely intel out there informing this decision, and for those not in the know to spend so much energy second guessing is not only laughable but ignorant. As another poster pointed out yesterday, there was just a big raid in Yemen, which likely yielded some information regarding threats to the US and its allies. Perhaps this had something to do with the decision, perhaps not. The point is, those without the clearance just don't know and shouldn't be throwing stones like they did.
