When I got up this morning, I noticed that FR is back up but couldn't find a thread explaining why this latest outage on such a big day. If the reason for the outage has been mentioned on another thread, please link it.

Great News! Heard from John a little while ago. He has the server physically running. He’s going to backup the data and run integrity tests before putting it online, We could be up and running very soon if everything checks out, Sorry, no clues to why it crashed. Nothing unusual in the logs. It’s one of our newer servers, but this is twice that it crashed “for no reason whatsoever” so it’s now destined to be replaced. Prayers up that all checks out and maybe we’ll be up soon.

I agree, we deserve to know what happened, but instead a lot of what I see is smart mouthed idiots, sickening, they remind me of demoncrats
It DOES matter. And yes, I’ve made many donations. The reason it matters is that we are all waiting for cyber attacks that will attempt to remove this critical forum which is one of the few remaining free speech zones left. When the sh*t hits the fan, I hope to tune into Free Republic for my REAL news. Furthermore, it happened on the day of the inauguration, a day when we were all holding our breath waiting for news of some kind of attack. Many of us are putting our faith into this Forum, when it goes down, especially on a critical day, we deserve to know if it is the result of an isolated techical glitch, or an intentional attack. Get off your high horse.
