I remember when I first took a very serious look at Donald Trump; when I heard him say, "Americas problem is too much political correctness."
Then he refused to apologize for not being politically correct. I remember literally saying, "WHOA!" I came on to this forum and said that Donald Trump was worth a serious look.
I believe that was when he won the Presidency or at least gained a lot of die hard support from the forgotten majority. Finally someone running for public office that has a spine and said screw you to the squishy bs of the left and the liberal press.
What was it about DJT that caught your attention?
Bumps, potholes, sheer cliffs.... It wasn’t pretty. We survive.
I agree.
When I was seven years old.
I like your tag line. This has also turned into the best post election ever too, watching all the Liberals go into a full melt down mode.
I've always believe Steinle's murder was a turning point in Trump's campaign. He was getting savaged by the press for his "Mexico doesn't send us their best" comments --comments that should've sank him, and then Steinle was murdered by the very example of "not Mexico's best" that Trump was talking about, dying in her fathers arms. A senseless act of violence that at that precise moment, underscored everything Trump was saying.
Millions of Americans, myself included, realized Trump was 100% correct and we started listening to what he was saying. He became a serious candidate.
When I set aside a Sunday in the Summer of 2015 to research his past to show he was a no-good lying scumbag sonofab*tch and instead came away with my head shaking with this:

I’ll never forget the feeling of having discovered a true patriot as passionate, committed, and as strong as any founding father. It was an unbelievable shock.
His plain- spokenness.
Pretty much the same thing.
My desire to see him become POTUS increased as he refused to apologize, mocked journalists and acted like an all around BADA$$. One thing that irritated me was his apology for pussygate. I was highly amused by him calling out CNN in the press conference last night.
You are SOOOOOOO RIGHT, once WE saw he was a fighter WE STOOD OUR GROUND and had his back COMPLETELY!!! Everything these BASTARDS threw at him WE would have NONE of it!!! THIS TIME WE FOUGHT with him EVERY step of the way!!! It was REALLY quite AMAZING so many previous candidates we liked these BASTARDS were able to run out of town with the race card, sexism, homophobia attacks and YET this time NO WAY, I am SOOOOOO PROUD of the American people WE fought EVERYONE even our OWN side and walked over broken glass to put this man in office!!! I have a NEW HOPE in America I thought our country was lost BUT we are back with a VENGEANCE!!!! It will be a COLD DAY in HELL before we give this country back to them!!!!
When he said “no” he proved to me the opposite of what others had said.
They said that he was in it only for the power, and had to get that power any way he could.
But even cursory examination of the opposite answer (The answer given by everyone else) shows that THEY were only in it for the power.
To say that you want “Make things better for everyone” and then stop at the moment you realize that you may lose, you may be inconvenienced or you may lose tells me that your intents aren’t good.
Those other guys wanted power within the party. Thats all.
BTTT!!!
Building the wall and deporting the illegals.
Every other candidate paid lip service to the issue, or danced around it.
June 4, 2016. I made a note. That’s when I move my support from Cruz to Trump. Why? Cruz had matching tattoos with a lady who is not his wife. Reject. Trump got support from Scott Adams of Dilbert who said Trump can beat the media. Accept. The one message that I remember from Free Republic ready regularly on Free Rupublic since June 4, 2016 is:
Best election ever.
Day one down the escalator. I was curious in almost a rubber necker kind of way and I try not to do that when their is an auto accident.
By August 2015 I was convinced he'd be POTUS. for 2 reasons.
1. One his security team. I don't remember where, but he was walking down a side walk and they were protecting him. I watched it a number of times, even in slo-mo it was high-def, via bloomberg I think. I counted something like 9 guys all Mil-Spec. Since then I have found out a fair bit about Corp Security and some for politicians, the hows and whys that I will not repeat, but let that go. It was then I realized he was serious, he was really gonna do this.
The 2nd item was I was @ the OSH airshow with a number of people that were horrified about the McCain flap, and other things. One a Lawyer, one from the Beltway, some libs horrified at how bombastic he was ( I loved their reaction in horror Lol!). They had no clue as to the Rust Belt Rebellion as I call it and didn't get it when I tried to explain it. I realized the center of the country got it, they didn't and they were in for a big surprise and that was a gut feel.
I go back and look at some of my and others post from that time frame and how prescient they were, man it was historic and a wild ride!
I was always guarded about my support for trump not really trusting that he was for real. for me I guess it was the piling on of unfair attacks on his character. when he began his run I thought he was full of it. the attacks on him and where they were coming from won me over slowly but at the same time I felt there was no choice when you looked at his opponent Hillary. I now look at who he has gotten for his cabinet and am a happy camper. I also think liberalism is destroying it self going after trump. every time an accusation is thrown at trump that is proven to be wrong I think they undermine themselves permanently.

Some of the former Cruzers are STILL p*ssed at me.
But I was never one to get tired of winning.
He talks back to the corrupt media and calling them what they are. You could see them clutching their pearls at CNN yesterday.
I am glad he is president now and we do not ever have to hear that sing song speech of obama and that shrieking voice of Clinton and the constant lying from them and the look of evil on their faces.
Shortly after he announced, and I realized he was a living, breathing, highly successful CEO — and not of a globalist company.
It was a no-brainer that this is what America desperately needs.
My wife and I attended our first Trump rally in September 2016.
When we saw it was a real movement, and that his supporters (like us) WERE NOT GOING AWAY, THAT HE COULD ONLY INCREASE, that was when I started to think he could win.
I think the movement is still increasing, BTW.
