When Costco created the Wavestorm surfboard, I don't think this is what they had in mind.
Two thrill-seekers jumped into a raging Aptos Creek with Wavestorm foam surfboards during the brunt of Sunday's Pineapple Express storm.
Onlookers recorded the dangerous spectacle on video. -- WATCH HERE.
Tree trunks were among massive amounts of debris being swept down the raging river as the two men jumped into the water.
They were tossed off their boards by the power of the river multiple times, and struggled to climb back on. One man managed to stand on his board for a few seconds with help from a paddle.
Aptos Creek swelled with rain and water flowing down from higher elevations in the Aptos Hills.
The wetsuit-clad duo was swept down the river and out to sea at Rio Del Mar Beach. They managed to paddle from the ocean back to shore, and appeared uninjured from the risky joyride.
Aptos resident Keith Mowen shared the video he shot above with KSBW.
Locals remarked that the stunt was dangerous, and remembered a surfer who drowned in Soquel Creek during a big winter storm in 1980. Edward Arko, 21, drowned while attempting to surf Soquel Creek with friends because his body was thrown against a log, according to his obituary.
Darwin must have had another appointment.
I am a devout Christian...and a patriot.
You are a traitor.
LOL.
You did everything you could to destroy Trump...yet here you are.
Laugh...traitor.
Even my daredevil surfer brother from Maui would not attempt this ride.
Care to tell us where in the heck Aptos Creek is?
I didn’t actually do anything. I stuck up for the same Christian and conservative values I always. I know, you hate Christians, you hate pro-lifers. Too bad.
You are a liar.
And a Trump hater.
Oh boy another I hate daredevils threads
Lord this forum just kills me the self righteous pussters
Where is that mountain climber guy God love him
I’m imitating freeper snarl/sneer
“What you expect to rescued you risk taking moron!”
In my case just an amber lamps or hearse would be appreciated
Thanks
Liar!
I fished the same, spent a little time in NW AR before my move to TX. AR is a beautiful state, especially in the fall.
LMAO
IMHO you’re being a bit of a dick.
Lighten up FRiend.
Unless you know something I don’t...which I doubt...nick is decent people.
Thanks.
BTW Trump was far from my first choice, but we should all be on our faces praising Almighty God he prevailed.
I’ve hiked up this creek as a kid. It’s not nearly as harrowing as it might look. Steamer Lane (Santa Cruz) on a mild summer day is more hazardous. These creek surfers’ biggest risk would be bacteria infection from the pollution. I hope they didn’t have any open cuts. Now that would be dangerous.
If I remember correctly it is just south of Santa Cruz.
All I saw was kooks attempting to paddle down a muddy creek. No surfing.
