IN ONE OF the most incisive pieces of post-election pop culture so far, Dave Chappelle and Chris Rock on Saturday Night Live school an election night party full of blithely ignorant white liberals on the deep, persistent currents of American racism.
Because of changing demographics, there might never be another Republican president in this country, cast member Beck Bennett says in the sketch.
Chappelle glares at him, dumbfounded. Word? he says. You ever been around this country before?
The gag of course is the fact that, as a black man, Chappelle has seen the country at its ugliest, its least inclusive, so he can understand how a candidate like Donald Trump, with his hardline stance on immigration and tough-on-crime policies, might just succeed. Bennetts character is still living in his white liberal bubble.
And yet its not a bubble formed entirely by delusions. Even as the Electoral College votes today to make Trump president, the United States is becoming more liberal. Just look at the data.
Over the eight years Barack Obama has served as president, public opinion in the United States has shifted decisively leftward. Think about it. When Obama came to office, he still hadnt publicly supported same sex marriage. Last year, the White House was lit up in rainbow colors to celebrate the Supreme Courts decision to legalize same-sex marriage. Over the last year, bottom line-driven businesses have boycotted entire states over discriminatory policies against LGBT people. A law prohibiting transgender people from using the bathroom of their choice just cost North Carolinas Pat McCrory the governorship. Undocumented immigrants have come out of hiding, banding together online to discuss their struggles. And in November, California, Maine, Massachusetts, and Nevada all voted to make recreational marijuana legal.

So much idiocy in this article and a 300 word excerpt limit.
you keep believing that...please.
Gonna be a very disappointing 16 years...
What a truck load of Bull Manure, no a 1,000,000 hopper car load of Bull Manure. The only thing I see as getting more liberal in America is social issues, that is interracial marriage. It not a big deal anymore.
I don’t see a need to excerpt this website.
It doesn’t matter which direction the world goes. It’s temporary, and God is not going to let people who hate him into his kingdom.
Is ISSIE LAPOWSKY their real name?
To understand how the enemies of freedom think and to predict what they will do next. They clearly hate white people.
What I liked about that SNL sketch is that neither Dave Chappelle nor Chris Rock were acting like Trump winning was the end of the world. They were like, "Yep. Whatever."
It always come down to gay marriage for the Left.
Pure BS and wishful thinking going on it this article; nothing more.
America is not California
I searched her name. She is a self-hating young white woman. What will she think when the Black Liberation Theologists get rid of all whites?
So much crap in so few words. :)
There is a strong "de-people" movement on the left that thinks humans need to be eliminated to save Earth. I suspect the gay marriage thing could be tied in with this movement. I hope I get old and die before gay marriage is mandatory!
Opposition to marrying anyone of the opposite sex you chose to marry is not a conservative position. It's a prejudiced position, a bigoted position, but not a conservative one.
All the left cares about is homosexual and cross dressing. It just shows how sick these people are, and how out of touch they are with the country.

Thinking it;s not a big deal is what liberals think, certainly not conservatives, or mainstream America in the south and midwest. Course the north east, and the west coast thinks that their homosexual agenda is what the whole country cares about which is wrong.
