ust dont get it. People are going insane about Donald Trump being president-elect. Its beyond the wildest anger and fear I saw even about Richard Nixon, my hero. And, as I say, I just cannot see it.
For example, this morning, I got several emails from men who had been my friends since high school. America is going through its worst days ever, said one letter. Were going to lose everything, said another.
It gets even worse. A dear old friend a woman who has been my close friend since the mid 1970s, a woman who never even liked Hillary Clinton much has simply refused to speak to me since election night. Her daughter, the wife of a wealthy real estate developer, sent me hate mail election night, when she learned I had reluctantly voted for Mr. Trump.
Why are people so upset? What has Mr. Trump done thats so awful? His choices for the Cabinet fall well within the range of the usual types Wall Street, campaign helpers, ideological bedfellows. Despite what you may have read online, none of them has made horrible statements. None is a Klansman. None is a Nazi. They have different views from those of the ACLU, but thats what you get in a free country.
The voters voted in a candidate with certain views. That candidate won fair and square. He gets to choose people he agrees with and who agree with him.
No one cares about their delusions of grandeur. Do. Not. Care. on any level.
The Left and their anti-American ideology were rejected HARD CORE in 2016 and it's a thing of beauty.
We had to suffer through 8 years through the Presidency of the most anti-American policy in our nations history. The left can deal. Bye Felicia. We don't care.
They are acting liked the spoiled brats that they are and the “wait till your father gets home” moment has arrived. Temper tantrum now.
Life is good.
Richard Nixon’s your hero Ben? Really? That explains a lot about you.
Cross the line with me and you’re dead. I’m too old for violent bs from some unhinged leftist. No questions, no hesitation, no remorse.
No, we will not. Those who haven’t gotten the message from this last election will end up having matters explained to them in more... definitive terms.
I worked on both of Mr. Nixon's winning presidential campaigns and had followed him long before that! I know all about him; unlike you!
What you and the n00b have completely missed, vis-a-vis the article, is what was said and done to Mr. Nixon, from the time he beat out Helen Gahagan Douglas, for the California Senate seat.
Nobody, but NOBODY, until Trump, has had to suffer through anything even close to what Mr. Nixon, did; even including Sarah Palin.
So just don't imagine, for one minute, that YOU know more than I do about ANYTHING political and therefore can tell me what's what...you don't, and your opinion on most things/people is ALWAYS DAMNED DEAD WRONG!
Best. Transition. Ever.
Bingo! Stopping Trayvon Martin brought that right out into the open.
The Trump administration should treat every instance of "The Knockout Game" as what it is: Attempted Murder.
I love the LIB/DEM/SOCIALIST/MARXIST chant.
“Stop the HATE, or we will kill you and burn down your house.”
Fast and Furious was set up as an early fake news story. And like the lie about Trump rallies being violent (when the left was hiring violent street thugs to make it violent) it was going to be blamed on us.
Bump
Excuse me, NRx, you do know that Ben Stein was a speech writer for President Nixon, don’t you? He also was a speech writer for Ford when Nixon left.
Maybe calling him a “hero” is a bit much, but if it wasn’t for Nixon, Mr. Stein might not be where he is today.
Ben Stein, NeverTrumper, irrelevant.
It’s like we go from one extreme to another, and one side is just not going to be happy that’s the way it is. We go from Clinton to Bush, and then ramp it up and go Obama and Trump who couldn’t be any more opposites. But when one party tries to nominate someone middle of the road who might appeal to everyone they lose. McCain, Romney and I would argue Hillary Clinton democrat leadership foolishly thought was a safer choice to appeal widely over Sanders.
It’s like a backlash against the former president, Clinton was a reaction to the Reagan/Bush years, WBush was a reaction to Clinton, Obama was a reaction to WBush and now Trump from Obama and it might keep getting more extreme.
Americans from both sides are so dissatisfied with the government as a whole that they think they can nominate someone to fix it when it is really rather hopeless.
And we have become so extremely divided and convinced our side is right that we may never get back to a point where we can have a widely popular president. One side is just going to have to eat it while the other gets it’s turn for a while.
Oh please she is in cahoots with and in complete agreement with every left wing lie film-flam and bamboozlement this election season ranging from colluding with the press on debate questions to voter fraud to a multitude of violent acts. The chutzpah and hypocrisy of a lib TV crone asking Trump to tell his supporters to “stop acts of hate” when the real acts of hate are being committed 24x7 by Granny Bobblehead’s hired lesion of doom.
Relax Francis.
This anti-Trump reportage and incitement to riot is more heinous than that we endured during the Reagan era, but nothing we can't handle, imo.
God bless and protect Donald J. Trump and his family, and God bless The United States of America he has promised to lead, defend and make great again!
“Its like we go from one extreme to another...”
George Washington warned against having political parties for just this reason.
