It’s like we go from one extreme to another, and one side is just not going to be happy that’s the way it is. We go from Clinton to Bush, and then ramp it up and go Obama and Trump who couldn’t be any more opposites. But when one party tries to nominate someone middle of the road who might appeal to everyone they lose. McCain, Romney and I would argue Hillary Clinton democrat leadership foolishly thought was a safer choice to appeal widely over Sanders.

It’s like a backlash against the former president, Clinton was a reaction to the Reagan/Bush years, WBush was a reaction to Clinton, Obama was a reaction to WBush and now Trump from Obama and it might keep getting more extreme.

Americans from both sides are so dissatisfied with the government as a whole that they think they can nominate someone to fix it when it is really rather hopeless.

And we have become so extremely divided and convinced our side is right that we may never get back to a point where we can have a widely popular president. One side is just going to have to eat it while the other gets it’s turn for a while.

“It’s like we go from one extreme to another...”

George Washington warned against having political parties for just this reason.
