Began a search after reading a news item and learned these great 'funny' men had died. Listed in no particular order. Lenny Bruce, David Brenner, Johnny Carson, Rodney Dangerfield, Sam Kinison, Flip Wilson, Buddy Hackett, Henny Youngman, George Carlin, Joan Rivers, Richard Pryor, Jonathan Winters, Robin Williams, Gary Shandling.
Still living Don Rickles 90! Bob Newhart 87! Jackie Mason 85!
I had recently posted videos of the great Bob Hope and Red Skelton - so yes, the list is not complete. It was just a small way for FReepers to share less stressful memories.
We need new Marx Brothers! New Olsen and Johnston, a new Abbott and Costello—Heck I would settle for a new version of Martin and Lewis! Comedians who do not need toilet humor to be funny.
Bob Hope and Johnny Carson. The best of the best.
I liked a lot of Trevor Noah’s bits when he first became popular. Funny stuff.
Now that he has his late-night talk show I’ve only seen a few things and it is the typical liberal crap and not even funny.
So - I miss the early Trevor Noah.
Buddy Hackett was funny. I would laugh just looking at him.
Jerry Clower
“Knock him out Johnnnn!”
He was never funny.
Larry The Cable Guy is funny!
There is no way a remake of “It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World” today with the crop of so-called comedians we have. It would bear no resemblance
to the original.
Rather like the remake of "The Honeymooners" with that hack "Cedric The Entertainer". What a POS. The movie sucked too.
Richard Jeni.
