>> They have a little circle jerk going.<<<
Sounds like you are still suffering from penis envy
I have a couple 2009 Mac Pros running Sierra. Biggest problem is bluetooth and wifi, one of my macs had been upgraded the other I had to use a USB bluetooth to get to bluetooth 5. Of course they both had the software hack installed to make the machines report as 5,1.
Which computer would that be? They are all leftists.
Most everyone that reads these threads, read them because they are on a ping list, why are you on it?
I have a Mac Mini G4 running OS X and OS 9. I have it running HyperCard, AppleWorks 5 and 6 with a FireFox Browser. Don't use it much anymore, but I have it. I also have a G4 Powerbook with the same system running on it.
I doubt I will have need of any further upgrades as I am much older than my computers and have little interest in advancing my skills. We do of course have a couple iPad Pros.
I think Snow Leopard is as high as it will go.
I have to come up with work around sometimes.
The most frustrating is not being able to sync my new iPhone.
An upgrade is in the near future, though.
I have a G4 laptop I’m using that I bought off of craigslist!
You do not need them anymore when you can use your cell phone.

Wow.... I have a late 2012 mac pro with 13 inch retina display that is in pristine condition and I use it about 3-4 hours a day ..... its home is a pelican briefcase with custom foam for the laptop and cordage, charger associated with it.
Not a scratch on it, clean and works great.
When can I expect apple to abandon support for it ? * (not happy)
Stay Safe !
Still ticking. Truth is I always passed on my old computers so I never had one go belly up, but I kept the G4 mini and Laptop.
I used to buy the latest and greatest but I have no need of them anymore. I don't even need an iPhone because I quit driving two or three years ago.
My guess would be the end of 2018. . . Apple has been pretty consistent on six years of support and then obsoleting the product so that should be about right for a late 2012 Mac Pro. The good news is that if you take good care of it, it's likely it will still work for up to ten years. Macs generally far outlast any Windows PC notebooks.
Driving? Who needs a car? My old nag suits me just fine and I don’t need a newfangled push button phone either!
Not happy... I have the Mac Pro 17 inch and I love it.
It will still work, it just won't be supported for repairs if it breaks. Don't let it break.
I managed to get “Sierra” on my “Early 2008 Mac Pro” tower...it is called “vintage/obsolete” now even when it’s GeekBench score is about 12,250...better than a lot of “current” Macs/PC’s (24 gigs RAM, 8 core Xenon, SSD).
My Mac Pro is 2009 so looks like a new one for me. But what the heck do you do with the old ones? We have two or more Apple computers that are just in the closet after new ones have been purchased?
Will try to keep it in good shape.
;)
This worked to get Sierra on my “Early 2008 Mac Pro”...beware “your mileage may vary”, and remember to disable “SIP” first:
Patch: http://dosdude1.com/sierrapatch.html
SIP: https://oliverdowling.com.au/2015/10/09/disable-sip-on-mac-os-x/

Later Mac Pro (2013) GeekBench Score, 68,317:
Not sure where that 68K number came from? I use this chart that tops out at 22.9K (multicore) for a 2013 Mac Pro: http://browser.primatelabs.com/mac-benchmarks My 2008 comes in at about 12.25K because it isn’t “stock”. About the same as some 2015 Mac Book Pros.
