20,500,000
That’s a lot of “free” tuition right there...
How many illegal aliens?
Also a lot of people living at home, lot of people without gainful employment, potentially huge pool of people who will not have health insurance once they turn 26, etc.
Please provide context and objective for posts.
Credible fact source appreciated, ie: Heritage Foundation, CATO, National Taxpayers Union, etc.
Thx
My son goes to a major, larger, state University and based on my estimates for tuition and fees alone and one semester, they take in 250 MILLION DOLLARS!
THAT IS FOR ONE SEMESTER.
Great point. How many of these “educated” once “graduated” actually become givers to society as opposed to indebted takers? We are close to a hundred million Americans out of work, underemployed, on government assistance or just floating around. The American educational system top down is ill prepared to give Americans the essential tools to compete in the economy except for cultivating new social justice snowflakes and welfare suckers i.e Democrats.
As a tuition paying parent, I can vouch that it is certainly not free!! haha. As the mother of 4, I find myself up at night worrying about my children’s futures. There is not an employment sector that I can think of that is flush with jobs for new graduates. What many high school kids do not realize is that they are competing for college admission and scholarships with the brightest young adults from around the globe. A’s and B’s are no longer enough to gain admission to many of our nation’s universities ( not talking ivies here) Straight A’s, AP’s and a 30 plus on the ACT are the starting point at many colleges in the US ( ask me how I know) Students need to understand they are competing with kids from China who are taking calculus when they’re 10. It would be interesting to know how many of those students are foreign.
Ha - I certainly didn’t intend to imply that it is free now - just was commenting on the repeated democrat promise to make it “free” in the future. Oh, and without raising taxes. Silly, exaggerated, unrealistic overpromise...
And most of those 20 million will be no smarter than when they left high school.
As Twain said, “I never let school interfere with my education.”
