As a tuition paying parent, I can vouch that it is certainly not free!! haha. As the mother of 4, I find myself up at night worrying about my children’s futures. There is not an employment sector that I can think of that is flush with jobs for new graduates. What many high school kids do not realize is that they are competing for college admission and scholarships with the brightest young adults from around the globe. A’s and B’s are no longer enough to gain admission to many of our nation’s universities ( not talking ivies here) Straight A’s, AP’s and a 30 plus on the ACT are the starting point at many colleges in the US ( ask me how I know) Students need to understand they are competing with kids from China who are taking calculus when they’re 10. It would be interesting to know how many of those students are foreign.
Ha - I certainly didn’t intend to imply that it is free now - just was commenting on the repeated democrat promise to make it “free” in the future. Oh, and without raising taxes. Silly, exaggerated, unrealistic overpromise...
