Does not appear to include a built in police station?
If you are unsure as to who is paying for something, check your mirror.

“the ambitious work features 154 interconnected flights of stairs as well as 80 landings where people can pause to make life-changing Instagrams”
Dear Lord, I am ready when you want to take me home.

There's a taxpayer who's sure
All that glitters is gold
And she's buying a stairway to nowhere

Oh noes... parents with kids are going to find their kids climbing up and up and up these stairs while puffing and panting way behind them.
The inventor didn’t realize this?

I will be climbing every one of those stairs when it opens. Then I will walk the nearby High Line to cool off.

This actually sounds like an interesting and somewhat original idea. It will be very expensive and must be structurally sound. I agree with other posters that the artist would be wise to install elevators or something to make it accessible by wheelchair bound and fragile ambulators. I hope it doesn’t take the “easy” way out and become an exhibition of sleaze, just to get attention.

You believe, if this was not some gov requirement, it would be built?
They are developers!
Its not their job to be giving out ‘free stuff’.
Their job is to make money.

The Great Escher only created in two dimensions, vs 3 or 4 like this new project.
To: Michael.SF.
NICE!
Mr Escher should receive a percentage.

To: SamAdams76
I suspect that production companies will want to film there. Everything from commercials to large budget motion pictures.

(The above is not a statement of fact. It is either satire or opinion. Or both.)
