Switch to Asia. Dramafever.com and Viki.com have some very good movies and TV shows from all over Asia, especially Korea. They are all subtitled and easy to follow. I find very little of value in Hollywood, these days - but the Confucian version of social conservatism (exemplified by domineering mothers-in-law) is alive and well on Asian TV. :)
One word: Kodi. It’s an app you can download on a pc or tv computer and with it you’re able to LEGALLY stream just about any movie you want from thousands of sources on the web. That includes often new releases sometimes streaming from foreign countries. Completely free and legal.
Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries (Netflix).
I loved all the Sherlock books when I was a kid and some of the early B&W films were good but since then I have never seen a Sherlock film I enjoyed.
Is this the series you are referring to, a modern day Sherlock? If so, I think I will try and find it online and check it out.

No, I’ll have to try that.
Between all of the suggestions here, and the upcoming football season, we should have a very entertaining Fall in our household. And, lest we forget the debates...DJT 16!!
Thanks for all of your recommendations!
I really liked this adaptation of Poldark. I remember watching the first run of the original PBS series of Poldark; and, I think this new iteration is actually a lot better.
So, for a gift last year, hubby bought me the Poldark version that showed on the BBC in England. There was some nudity in that one; but, there was also a fuller telling of the storyline that I thought enhanced the story a lot.
Go to viki.com or dramafever.com and discover the greatness of KDramas.
I'm watching this one now....can't wait...new episode today!
