An overprotective cat has unleashed furry fury on seven unsuspecting pitbulls out for a walk.

The 16-year-old pet named Baby attacked the feisty dogs as they strolled past the front of the cat's home on Monday in British Columbia, Canada.

Betty Jean Thompson, who owns the stereotype-breaking scratcher, said she tried to warn the walkers not to bring their dogs too close.

H/T to Patriot08 for the story.

I'm sorry for the poor pitties, but very impressed by Baby the Warrior Princess.

Bottom line is if you have an animal and it runs off your property and harms anyone or anything, the owner is totally liable for all medical issues. Like in this case.

By the way, these were obviously not mean pits, otherwise the cat would have been in pieces all over the street.

Thompson and her husband, Del, paid the $222 vet bill for Bandita and covered Grover’s hospital costs.

...

They were at fault. The dogs were leashed and the cat was loose.

Cats. Rule.

Glad Baby took it easy on the pups. They'll be fine.

A broken down old cat “mauled” seven pit bulls.
That’s a good story.

I’ve seen that video of the cat attacking the gator.
Amazing.

A Mexican with a pack of fighting dogs, one name Bandita, gets upset when an elderly uses a forward defense strategy against the pack.

One or two might be pets, but someone with 7 pit bulls is probably planning on making them working dogs.

A little Siamese in that cat? I used to have a Blue Point that would go after ANY dog near or on our property...you would see a dog running for its life with the cat on its back, pulling off pieces of dog flesh and fur. Good times...I miss that cat.

Did you pay a lot of vet bills?

“They were at fault. The dogs were leashed and the cat was loose.”

This was Canada so I don’t know the exact laws but in many states it is assumed that cats roam free and the owner is NOT strictly liable.

OTOH could the dogs be considered an attractive nuisance?

“A broken down old cat “mauled” seven pit bulls.”

Actually, only one, and that one had the cat in its mouth.

If the pit bulls had lived up to the public’s misconception regarding their demeanor the cat would have been reduced to a fur ball. They need to keep that cat on a leash. For its own safety if nothing else.

I’ve got a bulldog. One day we were walking in the street, he was leashed and a yappy little dog came running up acting like it would bite. My boy held him down with one paw and looked up at me like, “OK, what do I do now?”
Sounds like a vicious feline, as you point out, lucky to still be breathing.

Watch out for any animal or human called ‘Baby’ or ‘Tiny’. They’re usually real badass.

Reminds me of a story my late father told about a car they had when he was a,boy. Cat was named Muzzie and they lived in a small town.in southern IL. They had a fenced yard with a grape arbor over the entrance. Muzzle liked to hang out at the top of the arbor, concealed by the vines and leaves. Many good natured local dogs wandered about and one or another would occasionally make the mistake of trying to go into the yard by passing under the arbor. When that happened, Muzzie would drop out of the arbor onto the mistaking victim’s back and dig her claws in for all it was worth, producing a shriek of pure canine terror and pain. When the folks in the house heard it, somebody would say, “Well, Old Muzzie just got another.”
