The new Boeing KC-46A Refueler. This is a great Ad Boeing did. Think Freepers may enjoy this 2 minute video.

It looks like the big plane gave birth.
Haha! Indeed!
I am amazed every time I see them do that.
Aerial refueling isn’t as hard as one might think. It’s all about being smooth.
Off topic, but I wonder how many warplanes there are in all of the combined air forces on earth.
I kinda liked it better in the opening credits of Dr. Strangelove...background music of “Try a Little Tenderness.”
Fly, Fight and Win!
I am still amazed Wilbur and Orville got theirs off the ground so it’s a low bar for me.
I notice they are using the boom from the KC-10 (rudders and elevator vs. KC-135 ruddevators), but can’t wait to see this bird in service. When I was flying the KC-135A/Q booms the aircraft were as old as I was (1957 model myself) and it was great to go to the KC-10A as they were rolling them out of the factory when I cross-trained into that weapons system. It was nice to have more flying time then the aircraft you are flying in. I would love to make one more contact before permanently checking off headset, but don’t see a opportunity in my future. At least I had some great years and some pretty good war stories.
I used to work on those old, beat up, D704 buddy stores...and saw a few canopies get replaced after they got raked with a damaged drogue basket that was moving all over the place. I heard the pilot said it was performing a figure-eight!
And when the weather isn’t?
Thanks to both of you.
When it’s bumpy, it’s about patience. There will be short periods when things smooth out enough to make contact. Once connected you can usually ride it out.
It was a fun video until the F-22 got shot down
