I notice they are using the boom from the KC-10 (rudders and elevator vs. KC-135 ruddevators), but can’t wait to see this bird in service. When I was flying the KC-135A/Q booms the aircraft were as old as I was (1957 model myself) and it was great to go to the KC-10A as they were rolling them out of the factory when I cross-trained into that weapons system. It was nice to have more flying time then the aircraft you are flying in. I would love to make one more contact before permanently checking off headset, but don’t see a opportunity in my future. At least I had some great years and some pretty good war stories.
