The University of Mississippi’s marching band will no longer play any variation of the song “Dixie” – a tradition some seven decades old at football games and other sporting events.
The University's Athletic Department confirmed to Mississippi Today on Friday that the song, which was the unofficial anthem of the Confederate States of America during the Civil War, will no longer be played at athletic events.

Well the neighbor certainly wasn’t hiding it. I think it is his right to do that. However, we really can’t have a neighborhood with 77 flag polls ESPECIALLY since he didn’t have a flag poll at the door.....he had one of those flag polls you see at schools WITH the cement base. lol. He has nads I tell ya.

Funny, but as the crowd gathered at the White House to celebrate the surrender of Lee, Lincoln directed the military band to play Dixie as a symbol of unity and renewal.

Yes, of all the nation’s addictions perhaps sports has been the biggest distraction for middle class Whites.
So many pay huge sums to have their children brain-washed into Leftists or at least pop-culturists. And all they talk about is how Northwestern, Marshall, Texas Tech, Georgia Tech, et al are going to do this Fall with football.
I like college football too but at least 98 percent of universities are anti-intellectual Trotskyists factories that ought to be occupied by the militia and have their administrations and faculties turned out.

The propaganda machine run by the left needs to be stifled & that’s going to take a lot. The problem is that critical thinking skills are no longed instilled in most of our younger people. I’ve seen it first-hand since I work with many people under 30.

No band no longer exists when the school dropped football in 1991.
Oh, for Pete’s sake. At the time of the formal surrender at Appomattox Court House, President Lincoln had Dixie played on the White House lawn. ‘Course, he was a Republican.
