El Caminito del Rey (English: The King's little pathway) is a walkway or via ferrata, now fallen into disrepair, pinned along the steep walls of a narrow gorge in El Chorro, near Álora in the district of Málaga, Spain. The name is often shortened to Camino del Rey. In 1901 it became obvious that workers at the hydroelectric power plants at Chorro Falls and Gaitanejo Falls needed a walkway to cross between the falls, to provide for transport of materials, and for the inspection and maintenance of the channel. Construction of the walkway took four years and it was finished in 1905.

If you’ve got a fear of heights this video will give you quite a few puckers. And not the kind you kiss with.
I can’t even watch the video!
No thanks!

Safer than most inner cities.
That’s awesome! The crumbling cement is the only thing that’s really scary, and they have cables for the timid.
I love the fact they still leave it open for the public. That would never happen in our nanny state!
Watched the whole thing, awesome. I caught your thread about the aquarium too. At first I thought, it wasn’t so bad then I saw the holes in the walkway and him walking along the pipes. Also noticed placed where there was handrailing now gone. OOps. I appreciate the effort of the fellow who made this so the rest of us could see something really spectacular.
I watched 2 seconds. I have a very severe fear of heights.
Here is a link to their new website where you can book tickets: http://www.caminitodelrey.info/en/

The new one might be fun.

They called it the world’s most dangerous hike because at least 5 people died there but 3 of those deaths had nothing to do with the path. 3 friends decided the trail was too tame for them so they rigged up a zipline across the gorge and sailed off into eternity when it broke.
