It's a big deal like the Bill Clinton - Monica Lewinsky affair was a big deal. One partner has considerable power over the other. Generals should not fraternize with privates.
Now if Bill and Monica were just two people who happened to meet on a bus, no big deal. Same goes for that teacher and that student.

Putting a woman this young with HS students was a bad idea from the get go. Looks like the school set the party girl carnivore loose in a fresh meat market, and are shocked by the result.

This is just my opinion, but I think it becomes habitual with them. She is 24, so she was born in 1991 or 1992. She would have started high school around 2005 or so. By that time in our culture, she would have had no qualms about sleeping with any guy who approached her and she found attractive. This behavior would have been reinforced in college.
But once she got out of college, she would have been surrounded by men who were not as sexually aggressive nor promiscuous as many would be married and many of the older ones would have been of generations that did not approach women blatantly. She starts thinking that maybe she has lost her edge if she isn’t getting propositioned every day.
She goes back to high school, where 6 years earlier she was experiencing a lot of sexual attention, and it brings back a flood of memories and with it the surge of hormonal impulses. And there, a boy approaches her with the same blatant style that she was used to in high school and college and it makes sense to her. She likes it. This is what she is used to. So she accepts, as she has all the time with a guy who tells her he wants to have sex with her.
Because that’s her standard response. Her habit.

I just want to know what’s up with all the young attractive female teachers. When I was in school most of the teachers were over 50 and wrinkly with saggy arm flab wings or orthopedic shoes...

Something I’ve noticed with most of these teacher/student relationships is that the adult woman is usually fairly attractive. They could surely date men their age. But for some reason, they end up with minors.
From the picture, it appears that she enjoys being surrounded by wood...
