German Holocaust memorials and research centers are concerned about how players are able to catch Pokemon right at sites meant to honor those murdered by the Nazis.
Pokemon Go has only been available in Germany as of sometime before noon on Wednesday and already its causing controversy.
The Foundation Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe told The Local that the Holocaust memorial in Berlin has been reported as a site where people could find and catch Pokemon creatures through the augmented reality game.
This is a memorial space for the six million Jews who were murdered and it is inappropriate for this kind of game, said foundation spokeswoman Sarah Friedrich, adding that she hoped the company would remove the memorial as a possible location.

LOL
Some idiot in Tampa/St. Pete area totaled his car this AM playing this game while driving.
“Why should a place have to do that?”
Because a random generator using a map of the planet doesn’t
know one place from another? Some places have actually embraced people coming to them.
Now obviously people need to use some sense, but if some location is finding people engaging in this to be a PITA then they should have a mechanism to keep the random generator from allowing these things to be placed in a particular location so that something more than a paper sign will ensure that people get it.
“I say a good old-fashioned shotgun with rock salt will make it clear you aint gonna catch em here.”
Well you do that then. And you can be someone’s “pokemon” in prison.
Same thing is happening at the Holocaust Memorial in Boston.

Pokemon, noun. A Rastafarian proctologist.
with the greatest respect for the murdered Jews and other innocent people,
they’re also playing computer games while driving on the highway!
I thought the same thing. This race will not survive.
It shouldn’t be too hard to enter geographical coordinate ranges that are off-limits.
Perfect way to set up an ambush. And if you don’t think ISIS is researching ways to exploit it, you’re in LA LA Land.
Here in Phoenix, the freeway signs read: “Pokemon Go Is A No Go When Driving.” LOL
Already happened here in MO the other day.

Just a matter of time until it escalates into murders or even terrorism.
Our local cops posted on FB about idiots driving around town causing traffic issues.
;)
As Benny Hill would say:
Well done.....and you will be.
They Pokémon.
The game just rolled out last week.
My 18-year old daughter mentioned something like “Funny how the news for a day was Hillary and the FBI; now it is Pokemon Go!” (We had an earlier talk about how the dentist and the lion news overwhelmed the Planned Parenthood news way back when, and other stuff that fills the news)
Would someone, please, explain this pokemon game.
This is a Pokemon problem. Didn’t they know that people chasing Pokemon that can literally trot the whole globe would be unwelcome at a whole lot of places?
I could see a system where the user designates an area (like an open field or their own house’s yard) in which the Pokemon will then “appear.”
But this? What were they thinking?
What will happen when the Pokemon have found to have gone into the RNC Convention, or somewhere like that?
