On this day in 1953, Julius and Ethel Rosenberg, who were convicted of conspiring to pass U.S. atomic secrets to the Soviets, are executed at Sing Sing Prison in Ossining, New York. Both refused to admit any wrongdoing and proclaimed their innocence right up to the time of their deaths, by the electric chair. The Rosenbergs were the first U.S. citizens to be convicted and executed for espionage during peacetime and their case remains controversial to this day.

New York city honored Ethel Rosenberg in 2015 on what would have been her 100th birthday.

Should be a holiday.
Two less leftist traitors. Good riddance.
It’s only “controversial to this day” as the article says because the communists kept it alive, and still lie about the case. There never really was a controversy about their guilt. Just like the Hiss case. The commies cheered for them while knowing full well they were guilty. Those who still parrot the CPUSA line on this identify themselves as sympathetic to traitors.
Back then they were profiling communist Jews. They did not have issues with the due process of profiling.
Rosenbergs executed and Hillary walks...boy don’t you love the irony...
the woman should be in leavenworth for the crimes she’s committed ...

What a disgrace.
The left loved them for sticking it to America and on the other hand, claim they were innocent.
...and a unit in history classes to replace any study of Malcolm X, Rachel Carson and/or the Stonewall uprising.
I always use that example any time I get into an argument with someone about what is the most lib city in the country. The city council and politics in New York city is far and away the absolute worst. This is a city council that demanded cops bust people for selling loose cigarettes. So when the cops did and one died of a heart attack, who did the city council protest? The cops! For doing something THEY demanded the cops do!

But that’s in the olden days when treason was actually prosecuted.
The Rosenbergs were guilty of espionage. Venona confirmed it, for anyone who didn’t want to accept words out of the mouth of Khruschev himself.
The History Channel is worse than a joke-their material is leftist propaganda pap that gets cited by weak-minded leftists.
Yep. 100%.
In his posthumously published memoirs, Nikita Khrushchev, leader of the Soviet Union from 1953 to 1964, said that he “cannot specifically say what kind of help the Rosenbergs provided us” but that he learned from Joseph Stalin and Vyacheslav Molotov that they “had provided very significant help in accelerating the production of our atomic bomb”.
Dig them up and execute them again.
Actually, they didn’t have to die.
All they had to do was talk. They were both offered deals if they would reveal who was involved. They refused. Wanted to play the part of good traitors - so they died that way.
F-them and their stupid kids and supporters.
My uncle who was with the FBI worked on this case. He never talked about it much though.
Why aren’t William Jefferson and Hillary Rodham Clinton, Prescott Bush and his following, Barack Hussein Obama and his following, and the rest of the ‘traitors’ to this Country on trial for the same reasons?
If I remember correctly, they provided confirmation of the nuclear plans stolen by Klaus Fuchs and given to the Soviets. The Soviets weren’t convinced Fuchs was telling the truth but with the Rosenberg info, it was confirmed. Hope they’re rotting in hell.
