Fritzof Capra in his article “The Dance of Shiva: The Hindu View of Matter in the Light of Modern Physics,” and later in the The Tao of Physics beautifully relates Nataraj’s dance with modern physics. He says that “every subatomic particle not only performs an energy dance, but also is an energy dance; a pulsating process of creation and destruction…without end… For the modern physicists, then Shiva’s dance is the dance of subatomic matter. As in Hindu mythology, it is a continual dance of creation and destruction involving the whole cosmos; the basis of all existence and of all natural phenomena.”

The Nataraj Statue at CERN, Geneva:

In 2004, a 2m statue of the dancing Shiva was unveiled at CERN, the European Center for Research in Particle Physics in Geneva. A special plaque next to the Shiva statue explains the significance of the metaphor of Shiva’s cosmic dance with quotations from Capra: “Hundreds of years ago, Indian artists created visual images of dancing Shivas in a beautiful series of bronzes. In our time, physicists have used the most advanced technology to portray the patterns of the cosmic dance. The metaphor of the cosmic dance thus unifies ancient mythology, religious art and modern physics.”

As if you needed any other reason to understand why the Swiss lack inspiration and imagination to create entertainment that is truly worth watching or listening to.

LOL! Most of the advances in modern science have come from these so-called "barbarians" or their lineal descendants. There is probably no race on earth less uncivilized.

An event like this certainly represents an evolutionary u-turn, however.

The city of Oklahoma City has seen fit to give the Satanists a toe-hold in our city by over the past few years granting them permission to perform Satanic rites at our civic center in downtown. That is the concert hall where many wonderful theater and classical music performances, have been held for many years.

August 15, which in the church calendar is the day of Mother Mary’s Assumption into Heaven, the Satanists in OKC will be allowed to perform a Black Mass by Anton LeVey and the ritual of the “Consumption of Mary.”

Please, those who have concern for this, support right thinking Oklahoma Christians and mention this in your prayers. The burdens on God-fearing people by these rituals is not a joke and is horrendous. We are in a spiritual battle, and every prayer - great or small - counts! These kinds of activities are happening all over the world as evidenced by this post.

yer right. However, these clowns did start 2 world wars. Supposedly when Eisenhower was watching a movie with the troops before the Invasion, the movie was Henry V, and Ike was said to have said to his 2nd “what is it with these people and their penchant for war? They always love to slaughter their neighbors..”

Did not someone say that even God could not sink the Titanic? Where is that ship today?

Yes I believe so, I have some personal family history on this topic. My grandfather worked in what was called a Tavern, the Rotterdam across from where they built the Titanic in the shipyards of Belfast, just before he came to America in 1910 with his brother Jim, when he was 21 years old

He had told my father that they had written terribly blasphemous things on the inside of the Titanic as they were building it but I didn't believe it.

That is until 2012 when my wife and I went to Ireland for the commemoration of the sinking and the loss of my great aunt and uncle one hundred years before. When we toured the new Museum I noticed that there was chalk writing all over the inside of the bowels of the Titanic because the engineers had used the steel as a blackboard to draw out what it was that they were building in that particular area.

It was startling, of course there were no blasphemous sayings in the museum but it does correlate with what my grandfather had told my father.

Henry V was English. He was fighting the French. How do the Germans or Swiss fit into that scene?

It is true that it's highly hypocritical for the Europeans, who have barely been free of war in the last 500 years, to lecture Americans about being bellicose.

Yes, a lot of the conflicts could be laid at the feet of the Prussians, but the French contributed more than their share. Even WWII, as much as it originated in Germany, had its roots in the oppressive Treaty of Versailles, imposed to a large degree on the Germans by the French.

The Spanish, Italians, and Russians all had a hand in the bloodshed that has marked Europe ever since the Middle Ages. It was far from the exclusive province of the Germans.

Never thought of modern Swiss as especially religious (except for the Geneva business with the fanatic John Calvin & Ulrich Zwingli who got his head bashed in during a nonreligious battle), but this is ridiculous.

Now...Swiss nationalism held even Hitler at bay. And we like their attitude about citizens with guns. And declaring minarets verboten, count me in.

But what the hell is going on here? If I’m going to enter a seventeen long mile tunnel, I want God’s blessings with me!

“God Himself could not sink this ship” is, according to Walter Lord, the comfort that a ship’s officer on the Titanic gave to a woman passenger just as the order was given to don lifebelts and report to lifeboat stations.

It was not a known saying when she sailed. White Star Line had sold bookings on the Titanic for having the best accommodations for third class (steerage) passengers in the business, which was true.

Maybe this spectacle will result in a few more votes for Brexit.

That’s messed up. It doesn’t even make any kind of sense.

It reminds me of the recent X-Files reboot and the episode with Mulder's "drug trip" - totally surreal and disjointed. Maybe some of the Swiss are growing something other than edelweiss up on those mountains.

Not if you understand mohammedanism.

No blood sacrifices to the King of Hell in this celebration.

Under mohammedanism there are.

You nailed it! There’s already a British majority in favor of Brexit. Why ally with those who accept the inevitability of Islam in Europe?

Technology has zero to do with barbarism. See the Nazis. The Germanics who overthrew the Romans had just as an advanced set of iron making skills as the Romans.

It's a common mistake made by the poorly educated.
