Microsofts Windows 10 nagware campaign has entered a new phase, with all options to evade or escape an upgrade finally blocked.
Recently, Microsofts policy had been to throw up a dialogue box asking you whether you wanted to install Windows 10.
If you clicked the red X to close the box the tried-and-tested way to make dialogue boxes vanish without agreeing to do anything Microsoft began taking that as permission for the upgrade to go ahead.
Now Microsoft is changing gears.
It has eliminated the option to re-schedule a chosen upgrade time once youve confirmed it while also removing the red X close option from the screen. One Reg reader grabbed the below screenshot from a relative's PC on Windows 7.

windows 10 somehow took over my new computer after I repeatedly denied it access.
I’m still POd about it. I’d love to find out if they somehow stole my acceptance of their licensing agreements, too.
I left my computer running while we ran out for a day of getting things done. Upon return, I discovered that Win 10 was in the process of auto-installing, and was at the part where I just needed to click on ‘agree’ to their terms and conditions.
Creeped me out.
As regards Gibson Research, I still have a SpinRite CD. Use it once in a while when I suspect a hard drive is failing. I suppose they are still located in Orange Cty, Calif. Not to far from where I worked for over 20 years.
I have Win 7 Premium and haven't been asked about an upgrade to Win 10.
Might be because my Gen 4 "service" won't allow that large a file w/o going over for the month.
We have computers running software that does medically implanted devices. When this breaks them, there are going to be serious issues.
Yes Microsoft did remove the means to cancel their “window.” However, I refused to accept their conditions and the installation IMMEDIATELY STOPPED. I have not been bothered since.

Even if you get upgraded without your approval you have 30 days to revert back to Windows 7.
My opinion is Microsoft is getting to cocky, My gut feeling is the only reason why our government doesn’t go after for bull S#$T like this is because Microsoft and the liberals/Democratic party are in bed together.
had that happen to me also.
My hubby doesn't sign into his computer except on weekends. Last weekend, he signed in and found that Windows 10 had been installed on his machine without his permission. Apparently, you will be made to conform to Microsoft's edicts, whether you want to or not.
For about a week I was so angry I could have punched somebody.
I use Never10:

And I have these ‘updates’ uninstalled/hidden:
KB 3035583
KB 2952664
KB 3022345
KB 3068708
KB 3075249
KB 3080149
KB 3083710
KB 3068708
KB 3022345
KB 3075249
KB 3080149
So far, so good.
Between the government and Microsoft forcing things on you....is there no escape???
Is there a way to just install something like Linux as the operating system and still use MS office products?
Microsoft Windows is slowly turning into a virus.
In a just world Best Western would sue ms for loss of income, and the receptionist would sue for mental distress.
I have a several thousand dollar CAD program that won't run on win10. I will be quite annoyed if I lose the use of it.
