Ted Cruz Says Fight Not Over with GOP Convention Nearing (Wants to CANCEL Open Primaries )
Christian Post ^ | May 16, 2016 | LIEZL DUNUAN

Posted on 05/17/2016 4:08:52 PM PDT by Beautiful_Gracious_Skies

Ted Cruz and his allies are preparing for the coming National GOP Convention. According to NBC News, Cruz who recently attended a GOP convention in Texas told his supporters that the days ahead will be "challenging" for the Republican Party. He, however, expressed hope that those who remain loyal to him and the party "will be the remnant, will be the core of pulling this country back from the abyss."

Aside from this pronouncement, [he] has remained mum about whether he will throw his support for presumptive nominee Donald Trump. According to the NBC report, the support of Cruz and his allies in Texas is needed by Trump if he is squaring off with Democratic Presidential nominee Hillary Clinton for the presidential elections. A Texan party elder, Steve Munisteri said that "Ted Cruz has led a national movement, a conservative movement. We certainly need solid conservatives to be behind our nominee [Trump.]"

... Cruz and his allies in the Republican Party are EYEING TO CONTINUE THEIR FIGHT TO RUN THE PARTY. Despite his failure to win over Trump, ... he is still hoping that when he attends the National Convention,... he will be able to bring about key changes in how the party governs itself and picks its presidential nominee. Aside from changes in rules, the party will also be working out its "official policy platform" as well as "determine how much power the RNC has to make new rules of its own."

>>The key discussion points, which will also be the likely flash points during the convention, will include CLOSED PRIMARIES. THIS MEANS DOING AWAY WITH OPEN PRIMARIES AND THE "CONSCIENCE CLAUSE," which will RELEASE CONSERVATIVE DELEGATES FROM SUPPORTING THE PRESUMPTIVE DELEGATE, should that delegate represent views that contradict theirs or the party.

From hero to zero. Why Ted why? It was all unnecessary.

...and he’s making an ASS of himself now...

He is an ass, did that a long time ago.

And yes, he is not eligible for the office...

Go TRUMP, Go!

“Educate yourself.”

Thank you for providing a link that provides additional support that Cruz did NOT say Carson as dropping out and in fact confirms that they were just passing on the CNN story.

Yes and apparently Cruz just isn’t the guy they thought he was. Far from it.

Do you really think this story is true? It would be political suicide for Cruz. It would also be fatal to the party. The Christian post is reporting what NBC is saying that Politico was mentioning. I think you have your answer. Just folks trying to stir the pot.

Me too. Cruz has done nothing to unify. He needs to be shut out of playing any role there.

Ted will never be elected by a popular vote.

Ted will never elected again...not even in Texas!

This is why the security will be very, very big come convention time. People will be nervous.

Trump needs as many delegates as possible because they will be disqualifying some. People need to keep voting like it’s still a full hard race.

They intended to DQ entire state delegations from open primaries. They are desperate and crazy to win. Too much money on the table. Don’t rest until it’s over or Ted is seen riding across the Northern border in a dashing red mountie costume.

Never mind, although he’s from Texas, I’m sure he can’t ride a horse or a motorcycle. <- faux-Texan-faux-conservative-faux snake handler

Ted is dead. The stench of his rotting political corpse is overwhelming. He doesn’t know when to STFU and honor the pledge he signed. He’s supporting Hillary and committing political suicide

I want to see him in a red mountie costume with the black hat and a cuban cigar in his mouth, bound and otherwise- gagged.

Watched that movie when it first came out. Very humorous treatment of WWII. Of course it was not actually like that at all.

“Hello, this is the Cruz campaign with breaking news: Dr. Ben Carson will be [garbled] suspending campaigning following tonight’s caucuses. Please inform any Carson caucus goers of this news and urge them to caucus for Ted instead. Thank you. Good night.”

If Cruz simply passed along a CNN story, what did he apologize to Carson for?

http://www.cnn.com/2016/02/02/politics/ted-cruz-ben-carson-apology/

It became very clear to people, except for those in Texas apparently, that Ted Cruz is willing to do whatever it takes, ethical or not, to win.

To win at any cost is to lose.

Thus, Ted Cruz lost.

You might want to think about removing your head from your rear end at some point.

Amanda Carpenter tweeted that night about Carson’s Iowa departure and “guess those votes go for Ted”

If I understand the concept of the closed primary, I agree with him.

Ah, yes, but you are not letting your blind hatred of all things not-Trump to blind your reasoning.

It works both ways. I doubt very much that most people will go through the trouble to vote deliberately across the party line. Like you said, statistically insignificant.

This election cycle, it’s very doubtful, since Bernie is competing so well. Motivated supporters would not waste their vote on a R candidate.

I do not believe there was even one report that the preliminary Carson exit was ever mentioned at a caucus event. Even Steve King did not mention it when he gave a speech at a caucus. I seriously doubt nary a vote was changed.
