I’d say Yosemite for CA

I agree. Big Sur is beautiful, but nothing beats Yosemite Valley. The view from "Tunnel View" is just amazing.

North Philly is... sorta like the rectum of the universe...

Sorta... Camden NJ comes close.

PA is a beautiful state.

Philadelphia USED to be a nice place.

I grew up there. back when Hizzoner Frank Rizzo was mayor.

North Philly was a mean place, but Rizzo had it squared away.

Photo taken @ Nepenthe, Big Sur, CA.

One of the most crazy beautiful places I've ever been.

Here is the view across the valley from historic Braddock Heights, Maryland, in the Catoctin mountain range. Braddock Heights is between the cities of Frederick and Hagerstown, in the central part of the state well northwest of Washington, DC. The Appalachian Trail runs through that area, where dairy farms with their fields of hay and clover dot the valley.

Must agree. I remember Nepenthe and Big Sur from the late 60s. Laying up on the coastline a little south of Gorda, I heard angelic music in the surf.

seriously? Garden of the Gods isn’t even on my top 10 for Colorado. Maroon Bells, Ouray and Yankee Boy Basin, Black Canyon of the Gunnison are all breathtaking. Glenwood canyon with hanging lake is a must see. There are red rock formations like Garden of the Gods all up and down the front range. Pretty, but not as stunning as other places.

I many years ago I had to drive up to Ft Ritchie, MD and then to our spaces in Site R. The Catoctin Mts during the fall was some of the most stunningly beautiful scenery I have ever seen.

I looked up Connecticut's "Gillette Castle State Park" just to be sure it wasn't mis-attributed, only to discover a FReeper in heart, that was the stage actor, William Gillette. In his will, having no surviving wife or children, he precluded his home being owned by any "blithering sap-head who has no conception of where he is or with what surrounded"! What a wonderful sentiment!

And I don’t even have any mineral rights.

Maryland’s picture reminds me that a horse race will be started there soon! The Preakness runs the 3rd Saturday in May at Baltimore’s Pimlico track. The winner is supposed to get a garland of black-eyed-susan sunflowers (Maryland State Flower) BUT as they bloom 2 months later - they get a garland of viking moms, a lookalike from the chrysanthemum family!

I think you’re right. For Texas, he went right to to the leftist hub of Austin. I could easily come up with five

For example, ive at random... 1. El Capitan, Guadalupe NP

2. Mariscal Canyon, Big Bend NP

3. Palo Duro Canyon

4. The Window, Chisos Basin, Big Bend NP

5. Village Creek, the Big Thicket

And I thought of ten more while I was making that list...
