No they have no nickel. None. Titanium or titanium alloy nickel free.
.
I got an implant a few years ago and i love it. Lower molar. Dont even know its not my real tooth. Two step process. First to have dental surgeon pull out rotten tooth and insert titanium post into my bone. Then when that heals ok to have the dentist put the new fake tooth onto the post. Whole thing looks like a crown. I had a hole in my mouth for about 6 months though while things healed up and i went south for the winter. Cost was about $2500. But you can get it done for about half in Algodones mexico and there they do the whlole thing in one operation. Pull old tooth, insert implant, afix new tooth. It is very important that the post gets inserted at the correct angle. And when you get your teeth cleaned the hygienest has to use a special nonmetal tool arount the impant so as not,to damage anything.
A shower water jet has fewer moving parts to go bad, is cheaper, and works great: unlimited water, temperature, and pressure control, and if careful can also be used to clean ears and belly buttons.

It’s a long process....which you probably have been told already. [At least, mine was]
I am very glad I had the procedure. The implant hasn’t given me a lick of trouble, in 15 years.
Perhaps science/art has progressed by now. I think I was bout 3 months in the entire process.
Surgery was single session to remove the tooth and put in the implant. There was enough bone so he didn't have to graft any in for a secure connection - that saved a bit of time by not having to wait for the bone to settle in.
He screwed a cover on so it protected the gum and I was on the way home. Waited 4 weeks for healing to happen then went back to my regular dentist - he referred me to the guy who did the implant) to remove the cap, screw in a temp post to take impressions with, then replace the temp cap. He ordered to post to screw into the implant and the tooth to go on it.
When the post/tooth came in, he called me back in and screwed the post on and used a tiny torque wrench to get it right then glued the tooth onto the post much as a crown would be glued onto the stump of tooth.
Mine loosened after 15 months or so and he said that was unacceptable and replaced the whole deal (post/tooth) for free because the post had to have a defect for the loosening to occur. Been 10 years now and it's solid as a rock.
My total cost was around $4500 but time and location make a difference. I've seen some places a bit cheaper but most a bit higher - some considerably higher - might have to talk with your dentist and get all the info/estimates.
I took an extended (much needed) hiatus. Just started dabbling again last week or so. Dental implants. Nice safe topic. :-)
Be careful and try to avoid titanium I have heard some people don’t do well with it in the body. Ceramic is more expensive but safer. There was a famous actor who became very ill due to the titanium and had to have them all removed. Look for total ceramic.
You are right that implants are healthier than root canals. Root canals are dangerous to one’s overall health, holding a dead tooth in place and a pool of anaerobic bacteria that can travel into the body. Avoid root canals.
LOL on the dental implants— good low risk way to ease back in. Welcome back.
I hear you. I don’t post as much as I used to. I’m still passionate about this political stuff but probably less doctrinaire than I used to be. I can’t believe I’ve been on FR for coming up on 20 years now.
I know what you mean. Ain't it funny how time slips away (hat tip: Willie). Anyway, thanks for the shout out.
