Sounds like big fun, but this is serious hp, I hope there aren't too many people maiming themselves and others with cheap speed.

There. Fixed it.
I couldn't care less what they do to themselves.

Talking about cars. Jake Sweeney Pontiac, Cincinnati Ohio. I followed an auto carrier onto the lot and bought the ‘69 Trans AM it was carrying while it still on the truck. Was driving a ‘68 Fbird 400 at the time. In fact I posted several pictures of 3 or 4 TAs here at FR several months back.

I got seriously into flying (was a CFII) and sold it in ‘84. Major mistake. :<((

I remember the mid 1970s and this passed for a Mustang:

The ones that kill themselves are pretty low cost, but the ones who go on 40 or 50 yrs of permanent disability / long term care can be pretty expensive for the taxpayer.

Go to youtube, there are a bunch of videos with exotic high powered cars getting out of control. It usually occurs during acceleration when they loose traction and end up in the ditch. For people buying these cars without any experience, it would be prudent to go to Skip Barber and spend a few hundred bucks learning to drive it properly than tens of thousands in repairs.

Understanding how “directly related” relates to the need to be addressed is the key. Infinite power (horsepower) has to be channeled through transmission gears and rear-end (transmission) drives. That choice largely depends on what part of the performance curve one desires.

I assume the target demographic for these models is males, age 21-30. Does anyone have an idea what the insurance premiums would be for one of these

If you have to ask you can’t afford it.

Many of these vehicles are sold to the 45-65 demographic.

I’m guessing supercharger + nitrous is big trouble without upgrading the engine internals. But I’m not a Ford guru by any means.

Back when we had the 1/8 strip here, the 600s would often beat the open class bikes in the novice classes (all there was, really).

“since there’s no posi”

I didn’t know that. No limited slip diff available in this torque range? What do they do with even more power at the strip? Go to a locked diff?
