Ohio Ford Dealer, Selling 727HP Roush Mustangs for $39,995, Tells Hellcat to Step Outside
The Truth About Cars ^ | May 9, 2016 | Chris Tonn

Is the 707 horsepower Dodge Hellcat too weak for you? Do you miss the 662 hp Shelby GT500? Do you love the sensual whine of a supercharger pulley? Well, a Ford dealer in Ohio has the car for you.

Lebanon Ford of suburban Cincinnati is a Roush Performance dealer, and has decided to offer the base 2016 Mustang GT with a Roush Stage 2 supercharger for under $40,000.

This undercuts the Challenger Hellcat by nearly $25k, meaning you could pick up a new Fiesta ST with the difference, or perhaps a few sets of tires. You’ll need them.

Sounds like big fun, but this is serious hp, I hope there aren't too many people maiming themselves and others with cheap speed.

How much horsepower is too much horsepower? Somebody ought to put a stop to the horsepower wars. Somebody might get hurt. /s

I know different strokes for different folks, but I would never pay 65K plus for any car...

Ok, maybe a Maybach...

Wow. Lookit the fretting snowflakes in the comments section:

++++++++++++

I just wonder how many folks are really capable of driving these without causing mayhem.

All that power with no other upgrades, this seems like a good way to die.

I predict some awesome crashes leaving cars and coffee events throughout the United States due to incorrect tire pressure.

That kind of power without the requisite chassis and driveline updates?

+++++++

I'm guessing these pansies have a VOTE GORE sticker on their Prius?

A relative has a Roush Mustang. I have no idea the horsepower. I know it was expensive. But a SWEET car.

Dear Santa,

I want one for Christmas.

Sincerely,

A guy who’s willing to figure out how to drive it after the fact. :>)

40 grand for 700+hp in a brand new Mustang is pretty darn cheap, that’s for sure.

THIS is the real golden age of muscle cars.

It’s not the Horsepower. It is the torque to the wheels.

....I would never pay 65k + for any car... Lot #5035 - The 1967 L88 is extremely rare, 20 were produced. 20 of the most desirable Corvettes ever built. ... Auction‎: ‎Scottsdale 2014‎ Price‎: ‎$3,850,000.00‎ Lot‎: ‎5035‎ Year‎: ‎1967 Not bad for a car that could be ordered from any Chevy dealer in 1967 for about $7,000.00

You gotta love America. See a need, fill the need. Contrast that with the concern troll nanny staters, and you have distilled the political divide.

Freedom and responsibility versus regulated security.

I owned a ZX11 and man was it fun in a straight line if you didn’t have to stop soon.
I used to tell people if you got on the throttle, you’d better have someplace to go because you will get there faster than you can think.
Every season, it would take a month to get used to the power.

After years of dealing with it, I determined a ZX6 would have been a better purchase.

I’d probably get a GT350 or Boss 302 before I’d get one of these monsters.

LOL. More like it.
There are videos on YT showing idiots blasting-off in these (and other) cars and losing control, since there’s no posi, an open rear but electronic traction control, and it gets away from them. But they do have rear cupholders...
