OPUS AND OUT

Posted on 03/05/2016 1:29:50 PM PST by woofie

I took some time away from FR and Im enjoying that time immensely.(it just takes an attitude adjustment).

So off I go.

I considered shutting up and simply leaving but since I have been here a while I figured , Hell I might as well say something and Opuses are somewhat of a tradition..... thus the Opus route won

Final thoughts: A professor I had said if you don't agree on terms you are not communicating

And there is not much agreement on terms anymore. The main term not agreed on is "CONSERVATIVE "

On Google FR is defined as :

Online message boards for independent, grass-roots conservatism on the web. Gather at Free Republic to check notes, plan strategy, and talk about the issues ...

People who gather here now thinK Donald Trump is conservative enough and many people now hate George W Bush for failing to be conservative enough.

Good luck communicating.

since I have been on FR the following has happened....

Bill Clinton and his wife , both lawyers, skirted the law and broke the law in a myriad ways.

And while Freepers (and I) were appalled, most of the American People did not give a damn and continue to embrace them.

Next Al Gore came way too close to being elected President but we celebrated when Bush won

Integrity and honesty were big selling points when GW Bush was voted in. As far as Im concerned GW had them, still has them and the Bush's (now hated en mass) had class, which was a far cry from the previous Clinton years.

Then with 9/11 America (sort of ) woke up and realized that people in the Middle East had declared war on us some time back .....and they were serious.

WE, AMERICA (not just Bush ) then declared war. Overwhelming support was shown by almost all our representatives in Congress.

But after a few years some anti war people convinced Democrats that Bush was stupid and wrong and America should be anti war and they (the Democrats) could take control. It could be just like just like 1968 again

It was smart politics for the Democrats. Donald Trump also was smart enough at the very beginning to know that Bush was stupid and wrong and he is really proud of that. Gradually many more people were convinced of all this (and to my surprise many Freepers joined them).

The end result was the election of Obama

And a lot of Americans have been just fine with that shift, just not me. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

God Bless America

Thanks Jim

I enjoyed most of it.

I even learned what the internet was all about because I found FR

Please remove me from FR

Hey fellow “Class of ‘98” member- please stick around.

It’s often wise to take a break - you don’t see me posting much around primary time, as I like to logically analyze things (I like to think), and FR can get overwhelmed with insult-throwing partisans. The level of discourse sinks like a rock at these times.

But I still think that the FR forum has value, and I can hear news here that doesn’t get play anywhere else. I may advise FR management to find ways to keeping the forum from degenerating into a food fight, but even at these times that seem to emphasize our differences, it is still a good place to keep track of our common enemies.

Just in case you come back to check on this...

Your opus here proves that you were about two months ahead of your time, ol’ FRiend.

Nicely done.

Has a lot to do with God, family, country. Get that right and politics is just politics.

Yet another 15+ year FReeper gone ... and most who comment will say some variation on “good riddance.” (I sure won’t.)

I appreciate your attempts to bring civility back to FR. However, I know exactly what's going to happen tomorrow night, after Trump takes Indiana. I've seen too many political campaigns to know when momentum takes over. The bandwagon overflows.

Trump supporters will have a grand celebration, and they deserve it. But there will still be pejoratives thrown at Cruz that go beyond the pale, in large dollops.

Why am I still here? It's been a grand 17 years for me, and I can always hope that FR will survive. At the very least, if I can help convince a Trump supporter to pony up and donate to the cause, it will be worth it. Otherwise, we'll be stuck with a never ending fundraiser.

Agreed, with both of you.

But there will still be pejoratives thrown at Cruz that go beyond the pale, in large dollops.

And every time it happens, Hillary cackles with unbounded glee.

You and I have been here for a lot of years and communicated over much of
them. Take care with your future endeavors and make the most of your desires.
Although we haven’t communicated that much lately I do hate to see you go
but I can understand. The best to you and yours as life moves on.

Probably not if they’re constantly harping that folks shouldn’t vote for the nominee.

I don’t post much - and definitely not my opinions anymore. Just read on occasion. Blessings.

Nothing worse than that what has come of the mouth of Ted Cruz. Today included. Cruzers need to suck it up. If their candidate can dish it out they certainly have to take it, IMO.
