The best documentary on the National Common Core Standards, Building the Machine, was directed by Ian A. Reid, who set out to illuminate the sixty-two percent of Americans who had not heard of Common Core in 2013.
Common Core, the brainchild and work of 30 individuals under the aegis of the Governors' Association and with the help of almost $200 million from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, is the tool to achieve the "fundamental transformation" of our society by adopting nationalized education "standards" that require students to find another way to reach an answer, particularly in math and science, even if the answer is wrong, justifying the incorrect answer as the path to helping students learn to think critically. The fact that the student needs to reach the right developmental age to think analytically and critically does not seem important in this newest educational scheme.

We need to go after Pearson Publishing. From what I hear, it is publishing history books devoid of TRUE history. And I think someone on here said it is owned by Muslims.
At some point when the kids start to show up at colleges, and they are forced to take two to three math orientation classes to be ready for college math....then folks will start to ask stupid questions. Same for the other subjects as well. If you are wasting an entire semester taking remedial high school subjects for a college entry situation...it won’t be acceptable for the parents paying for this. They will sue the high schools for giving the kid a certificate that is worthless.

Once I knew that the essay portion of the SATs were graded by school teachers (i.e., 90% Dems), I had my kids do some sucking up, which including writing something nice about Al Gore’s effort to combat Global Warming.
It worked, probably pulled them up a point each (on a 5 point scale).
Somebody is erasing the confederate history. Lee Circle in New Orleans is having the statue removed. Will it now be Roundy Round circle? So, if the south never existed because it’s offensive, then slavery never existed either because it’s offensive. Right? Change school names etc. Robert E Lee High School could now be sheila jackson lee high skewl. You know what I mean. And some folks wonder why Trump has support.
