Larry Kudlow is LOSING IT over Cruz's 'New York Values' remarks. NYorkers more vain than Texans?
January 16, 2016 | Lee Martell

Posted on 01/16/2016 9:35:25 PM PST by lee martell

I'm listening to Kudlow's Money Talk on the radio. Larry, the host is furious at Ted Cruz for making his remarks. This has become almost a Rorschach Test where everyone gives their own interpretation on exactly what Ted was saying. I know what he was referring to, the New York that would elect Bill de Blasio, had elected Bloomberg, and Hillary to office long before that. These people were elected in spite of their hard left leanings. Ted was speaking of people like Governor Andrew Cuomo, who said "Pro Gun Supporters have no place in the state of New York. Who can forget about the "artpiece" featuring a crucifix dropped into a large jar of urine.

Larry was saying Cruz has ruined his chances and should leave the race. He said Trump 'eviscerated' Cruz in his responses. Some follow up callers disagreed with him, saying to forgive someone for a mistake is the Christian thing to do, vs disowning that person completely.

I don't know many individuals actually from New York, the city or the state. Are any of you more familiar with citizens of this state? Are most this sensitive to negative remarks? Do they still see themselves as the cultural centerpiece of the country?

“With few exceptions......”

Lol, the Trump are claiming no exceptions.

The judge is wrong by the way, the English law defined naturally born as children of English subjects ( citizens ) even if born abroad. So an English lady traveling in France does not give birth to a Frenchman.
Every conservative lawyer agrees, leftist Larry Tribe conveniently sides with Trump.
Tell me, when did Cruz become a US citizen, what was the naturalization process he went thru?
Notice the Constitution says naturally born, meaning a citizen from birth, not native born, meaning born in the country.

Agreed. I will not vote for someone who isn’t conservative. Populism is not my cup of tea as it’s a philosophy of resentment and seems to attract political agitators I find it interesting that some who claim conservatism show no interest in conservative policy. Many individuals appear to give DT a pass on his past actions/words simply because he’s brash and outspoken.

The problem with this line of attack is Cruz can’t be Cuban, Canadian and Texan at the same time. So the attacker loses credibility. At least one is a lie.

When you get down to it.

How much difference is there really between Hillary Clinton’s core beliefs and history and Donald Trump’s core beliefs and history.

He could have run successfully as a Democrat.

Whether Donald Trump has an (R) behind his name or a (D) behind his name, he has been the same Donald Trump for years. I don’t believe he has had some kind of sudden genuine conversion to conservative values. He is 69 years old, how many people have you met do a genuine transformation at that age.

Trump is using hyperbole to sell himself as usual, and attacks like a liberal, which shows his true colors.

No, McCain never held a Panama citizenship.
Obama birth certerficate says he was born in Hawaii.

Cruz was a citizen of Canada up to 15 months ago.
Then renounced it.

The ability to rock the boat is also most likely a New York Value. This statement has struck a chord in the psyches of many voters. Most of us did not realize how sensitive we are, and how uncertain we remain to that concept of ‘acceptable values’.

If you need to get it explained that Cruz was in no way talking about 9/11 or the First Responders then there's not much more to say.

NYs politics and it's heroes are mutually exclusive.

See Trump’s 1999 Meet the Press interview and you’ll see an idiot.

If you watch Trump after Cruz says it he doesn’t move. Minute or two later he throws out the 9/11 card because Cruz knew of the 1999 Meet the Press interview. That was his angle.

The tragedy of 9/11 is not a political tool. Trump used it exactly that way. No one ever questions the motives of the heroes that day......in NY, DC or PA.

Trump tried to make it look like Cruz did and in some way he succeeded.......only the thinking class knows the motive.
