I don’t care.
I love my coffee.
I’m not going to quit it so I can add three friggin’ weeks to my lifespan.
Coffee is way down the list of things that could shorten your lifespan.
I dont feel healthier in the least due to the debate over coffee.
My lack of coffee may be hazardous to their health.
The problem with all these studies:
“And in those with the gene variant for handling caffeine slowly - roughly 50 percent of people - more coffee has been linked in separate studies to a higher risk of hypertension and heart attacks.”
Linked. Associated with.
Then there is this:
“The finding of the federal advisory panel is supported by dozens of studies showing that, on average, people who drink coffee are no worse off than those who don’t. In fact, several suggest that coffee drinkers may be more resistant to heart disease and other health troubles. Those studies, however, do not examine whether the test subjects process caffeine differently, or how genetics affects how people handle the stimulant.”
IOW, on average, any increased risk is so small as to disappear in the noise. Do I change my habits based on the possibility of a statistically invisible increase of risk? Hell no!
I don’t think coffee is injurious to people who drink it.
What is bad for coffee drinkers is all of the high calorie sugar and high calorie high fat coffee creamers that they add to their coffee. And I think the caffeine tends to burn people out too.
Most of the coffee drinkers I know are well over 65, and are getting along just fine.
How much damned $$$ are these ‘coffee studies’ bilking the taxpayers? I’m sick of hearing about them.
When I was a child and I asked for coffee, they told me no! Drinking coffee would make me short and brown! I would sneak a cup occasionally and I drank enough to make me short but not enough to make me brown.
Coffee is health food!
Coffee is not bad for your health. The calorie-laden, coffee-flavored specialty drinks loaded with sugar, whipped cream, and other extras ARE bad for you. Thinks of them as king-sized, drinkable candy bars. That being said, I am not giving up my coffee...EVER. A good drip brewed, locally roasted coffee from a roasting company I have done business with for the last three decades is my brew of choice.
Regular caffeine intake is poisonous. It’s incredibly addictive and drives adrenal exhaustion, which in turn drives heart disease.
Well, I’m one of those who can drink 3 cups and go to sleep, so I’m not going to worry about it.
Even if “experts “ produce a study it’s still bull$hit. It’s impossible to find individuals who are exactly alike in all respects except for their coffee drinking habits. Read a book on statistics.
Coffee and tobacco are my two favorite vegetables. Truth be told, they’d be my only vegetables if they didn’t hand out celery at Buffalo Wild Wings.
Give me an Americano with an extra shot of nicotine.
BTTT
I never drank coffee until I was about 40. Now, it is the absolute pinnacle of my day. I get all the crap in the morning done that I’d rather not do and then, it’s internet politics and coffee time. Best 30 minutes of my day.
