Great post! (#33). And when you think about it, the leadership types you described there are present in almost every large organization.

The best attribute of Trump is his ability to get the people pumped up, excited about our prospects again. Obama has sapped the energy of America. We need a Cheerleader-in-Chief after the current dismal Divider-in-Chief.

Further, this country needs a strong leader who can rise above partisan politics & cronyism to put America first. Someone who is not beholding to either politicians or big money interests. Only Trump fits that bill.

Who would I follow into battle?

Trump because he oozes success, Cruz because he is too smart to do something stupid, & Christie because he is tough.

Carson no, he doesn’t have the heart of a warrior. All the rest are wishy-washy politicians who will walk us right into an ambush.

I think Trump would throw me under a tank the first chance he got if it enhanced his own personal stature.

I agree. An excellent analysis.

I do believe that leadership can be trained, that experience is crucial, and that vision makes all the difference in motivating troops.

Trump has a vision of a United States as a sovereign nation.

Cruz’s vision is the same.

Rand Paul wants an independent, individual liberocracy.

Rubio envisions a well-oiled social engine.

Fiorina sees a functioning machine.

Bush sees a social democracy.

Kasich is the same.

Carson sees a wholesome, safe community.

Anyone with the balls to pick up a rifle, don an LC2 harness with extra mags and take point.

" lacks the depth to execute foreign policy beyond narrow economic interests.

Cruz is the one that "lacks depth on foreign policy, and to back up my assessment of Cruz on foreign policy I submit the following. Right after the Egyptian military overthrew the Muslim Brotherhood government Cruz called for ending aid to Egypt and sanctions on Egypt. The Muslim Brotherhood government was imposing an Islamic government on Egypt, murdering Christian and burning Churches and Cruz wanted to punish the military for overthrowing them? Really that's your depth guy? Give me a break.

Cruz Demands Obama End Aid to Egypt

"Every single other vote has been conservative."

What was "conservative" about voting to reauthorize the Patriot Act.

EXACTLY!!!!!
I wouldn’t follow any of those Bozos currently running for President into battle. Did any of them even serve on active duty?

When I stopped to think of any living politician that I would be honored to follow, Col. West was the only one I could think of.

Hmmmm. A Trump/West ticket would be quite viable.

Yes it would. Trump is already pulling a significant percentage of the black vote. I personally think Trump will win anyway if he gets the nomination, but Allen West would definitely get him higher percentages of the Black Vote.

That would pretty well solidify the election for Trump.

I am not a Trump supporter. I am a Cruz supporter. Trump has a lot of what we need, (feisty, will fight.) But Cruz has all of what we need. (Willingness to fight. Devotion to conservative principles, and the soul of a philosopher.)

That being said, I will happily vote for Trump, Carson or Cruz. If Jeb is the nominee, I will vote for Hlllary.

Might as well get the fires started.

Ted Cruz.

He’s distinguishing himself as a born leader who can dominate and who can eviscerate the opposition, yet do so with intelligence and grace.

....Custer on the stand...

So you mean he would lead you into a battle against overwhelming odds, then use terrible tactics guaranteed to get you killed?
Epic fail.

If you wanted to illustrate a leader making a great, and successful, stand against overwhelming odds you should have gone with General McAuliffe at Bastogne.

Or any other of a number of notable leaders.
But Custer?

Custer won several battles during the Civil War. He was undercut by Benteen. HIs battle plan was solid, but during the battle his troops did not do what they were supposed to do.
