The US is the world's undisputed leader in terms of military strength.
That is according to a ranking published in a Credit Suisse report on globalization.
Russia ranks second, narrowly ahead of China. Japan and India round out the top five. Canada ranks 20.

I don’t see any diversity statistics. That’s more important than tanks, aircraft, and ships.
I had no idea that Japan and India were in the top five.
bkmk
Japan uses its military for defensive purposes only, they have not been majorly engage in any foreign intervention since the end of World War II.
That’s going to change pretty soon with China trying to occupy disputed islands that Japan claims is theirs.
Nonsense. A lot of equipment - without the will, unity of purpose, and commanded by a self-loathing, politically-correct bureaucracy is damned weak.
Good to keep in mind considering...

Obama: "We Welcome China's Rise"

And Britain has allowed itself to fall below Italy. ITALY!?
In 1930, France was considered the most powerful professional army in the world. It took the Germans nine days to go through them, even with the help of British Expeditionary Forces.
Without the Brits, there’s no way they’d have evacuated the number of people and equipment they did at Dunkirk.
We are 1930’s France in terms of military power at the moment.
I see South Korea but no mention of North Korea.
Exactly what I was going to post.
Surprised North Korea is not on the list.
If Israel was weaker than Egypt and Turkey it would no longer exist.
Canada, Germany, Australia in particular come to mind as having a high potential relative to others.
They need at least 3 more columns. Nukes, Drones, Robots.
And don’t forget Space.
And few were more shocked than the Germans themselves.
This list has more lies in it than Hildabeasts missing emails.
Thailand?
Indonesia?
As has been mentioned—no N Korea?
Canada is ranked 20th when all it has are 100,000 full time military in a nation with a population of 20 million.Of that 100,000 standing army, maybe about 12,000 are dedicated to combat roles.
Canada should be way down that list below the 20th rank.I do not put any credence at all in this report.
The U.S. Military is only ahead due to accumulated strategic capital from a more moral age, which is quickly being depleted.
Give it 5 years under such an administration and expect it to decline to number 3 or less.
Points off for leadership. Strength means nothing without the will to employ it.
Where are the Norks?
