In our valuation model, we forecast the company to lose market share in the global B2C e-commerce market, which was valued at over $1.5 trillion in 2015, over our forecast horizon. This is as the company is seeing dramatic increase in competition, from both e-commerce giants such as Amazon and Alibaba, as well as from upcoming players such as Jet.com.

I think that came about because a lot of the electronics sellers were quoting a low price and a ridiculous shipping charge to beat the fees when there was no charge on them. In those days I'd see high-end VHS and/or DVD recorders being offered at $10 Buy It Now with a $70 shipping charge.
As another poster pointed out, making the Buy It Now price 30% over your opening price is stupid and self-defeating. Someone would REALLY want the item bad to fork out a 30% premium. GunBroker (firearms related) lets you have a BIN for 1c over, which prods the buyer into an instant decision instead of putzing around for seven days. They also have a 14-day auction that can run forever - auto relist until it sells. The downside, as with most other auction sites is that they don't have the wide customer base eBay does.

So it really pissed me off when eBay & Paypal withheld funds on me for the sale of a collectible amateur radio amplifier to someone I'd sold to before.
Their reasoning: They had OTHER PEOPLE who listed as selling similar items to what I was selling, and it turned out those people shipped to their customers (read that: "victims") boxes of rocks and made off with the money.
Now *I* didn't have a single complaint against me for dozens and dozens of sales. I was an eBay "Gold" Seller. And yet, eBay was penalizing me for what OTHER PEOPLE did.
I cancelled the sale, contacted the buyer, told him what eBay was doing and we ended up doing business off eBay for the item.
Yeah, eBay literally ripping off sellers by withholding funds from a sale, then taking 10% + listing fee's really pissed me off.
After that incident, I simply quit selling on eBay. I have a good enough reputation I can sell on any amateur radio board that's out there without paying a listing, transaction or selling fee.
I hope eBay chokes itself to death.

Ditto. I used to buy tons of stuff from ebay, but have had to deal with a much higher percentage of shady sellers than in the past, so have become extremely wary with ebay. Use it mostly for small engine parts and such that I can’t find elsewhere. Have shifted to buying most stuff from amazon sellers because if there’s any kind of problem (which is actually pretty rare as amazon nukes bad sellers pretty quickly), the awesome return/refund amazon infrastructure is always available, and even very helpful humans on the phone if things get really complicated.
With ebay, the buyer is pretty much on their own other than enlisting the aid of their CC company, which I’ve had to do more and more lately. (BTW, NEVER EVER use ebay’s “problem resolution” process: ALWAYS go straight to your CC company at the first hint a seller is crooked. Oh, and NEVER EVER fund an ebay payment with anything but a CC.)

You should see Ebay’s stock price. On Friday, 17JUL2015, it climbed up to $66.29/share. By the 20th it had dropped to $28.57. Since then it has slowly dropped with it currently standing at $25.33/share.

thanks, i’ll keep that in mind. mostly been buying carbs for things like string trimmers and chain saws. some awesome prices on ebay for NIB original Zama and Walbro carbs. dealers are usually small engine shops like jacks.
I can either choose to spend 30 minutes per item researching and pricing which would take 7 years to do so, or I can spend 5 minutes putting them up for a penny, which will take me a year to do so.
Yes, I could likely realize triple my money doing it the other way, but end up still having 32,000 of those CDs which I'd still have to dispose of.

You could sell the CD’s in “lots” of ten or something. May not get as much money, but you might be able to get rid of them quicker.
Years ago I needed four good shipping cases (2’x2’x3’). I got on the military liquidation site and waited for an auction near me. I got some really nice Pelican and Hardigg cases for $50 a pop. Except I had to buy 12 of them! (I sold a couple to friends and use some for storage, etc.)
Tired that, doesn’t work, more often than not, no matter what is in there, people won’t bid. Which is funny, I offer a cast CD from a Pixar movie in a lot, no bids, sell the CD alone, $350 is the typical realized price.

Absolutely.
IMHO, eBay was a great company for buyers and sellers until it became publically traded. I think that is the worst mistake eBay ever did and it has been all downhill since. Much because, for the company leadership, it became more about pleasing the investors at all costs, more than their buyers, sellers, and their marketplace.

Does the guy in the video though have a point with the heat generated by high-power electric units removing nutrients?
Do you have an Aldis nearby?? They might have some juicers left over from last week. Only $60 and they were low RPM. No heat to maybe destroy nutrients. One trick is to juice vegetables/fruits right from the refrigerator. They are cold so this makes it harder for a juicer to heat them up.

The Breville juicers are such high RPM (13,000) that when you run cold refrigerated fruits and vegetables through them it is so quick they don’t heat up (my opinion)

It's hardly worth it due to the prices they charge sellers.
If you sell in bulk then you can make some dough. I sell occasionally but it isn't worth it unless I have gotten the item for nothing.
