He was speaking at the National Press Club today and completely eviscerated Donald Trump. He started out by saying that he likes the idea of Trump calling out the establishment and that his diagnosis on Washington DC is correct. He finds the Trump show very entertaining and says he even laughed when he gave out Lindsey Graham’s phone number. But while his diagnosis is good, Jindal says Trump’s prescription of himself is not what America needs.
But then he lit into Trump, calling him a narcissist who only cares about ‘Trump’ and says the only reason he likes Kanye West is because West likes Trump. Jindal notes that like all narcissists, Trump is really weak and insecure and afraid of being exposed.
He had several really good jabs at Trump, but one that I thought was a particularly good zinger was when he explained why Donald Trump can’t even tell you his favorite verse in the Bible. He says Trump has never read the Bible because Trump is not IN the Bible! Wow.
Jindal says for the first time in a while conservatives have a real chance of winning, and yet right now an unserious candidate is leading the pack.
I have to say that I love what Jindal said. He really threw down the gauntlet and laid out the case against Trump better than anyone has thus far. And he didn’t do it in a mean and nasty way. He did it in a very thoughtful and substantive way.
Now all of a sudden Jindal looks like a serious candidate who is willing to fight for this nomination. BRING IT ON

Jindal is a good man, but like other 15 candidates, is controlled by his rich donors. THe interests of rich donors are opposite of of interests of middle class. One wants cheap labor express, the other wants better jobs.

Well I think Trump didn’t handle his Carson hit back very well it will be interesting to see how Trump hits back against this.
He best do it reasonably because I think Trump is starting to annoy at this point.
What are Jindal’s poll numbers?
He didn’t do it in a mean and nasty way but zingers abounded? It was a substantive takedown but the most important piece was a bit about how Trump is a narcissist?
These things do not add up. It’s not possible to throw zingers out there (for real, not just joking around) without being somewhat nasty. It’s not possible to have a substantive debate which focuses on the personality of someone you’re going after.
Did you just not post these portions in your analysis?
They really don’t realize the enmity out there for establishment GOPe status quo. They have no idea what they have done, much less repair it.
The GOPe must have called an attack in.
This is a playground brawl - and the wimps will get beat up. They all want the nomination and everything against Trump is going to be highlighted in the media. Never mind what the others say or when they start it - Trump gets all the blame.
Personally, if I were to cat call somebody about being a narcissist, it would be the BOY wonder President.
