Disturbing Video Shows Cop Whipping, Kicking His Own K-9 During a Raid
The Free Thought Project ^

Posted on 09/01/2015 1:27:24 PM PDT by Altariel

Peoria, AZ — When a Peoria resident pulled out her cellphone to record police raiding a neighbor’s home, she never expected to what would happen next.

The woman filming, who wishes to remain anonymous out of fear of police retaliating against her, said she pulled out her phone after she heard police say, “I know you’re in there, come out with your hands up.”

What she saw next was animal abuse.

The K-9 handler lets the dog run to the door and then, for an unknown reason, walks up and whips the dog with his leash. As if the leash strike wasn’t enough unwarranted punishment, the officer then kicked his K-9 partner.

Onlookers reacted in awe after witnessing such cruelty.

“It didn’t seem right to me I have never heard of an officer stomping on a dog or whipping it with a leash,” said the woman. “The dog looks like a puppy and looks terrified of him. I think the officer needs to be disciplined or spoken to at least.”

Although it appeared that the dog was not seriously injured, the woman reported the incident to the local news. The Peoria police department says they are now looking into the incident.

This incident is hardly isolated. Cops being caught on camera beating and abusing their K-9 partners happens fairly often.

In June, a sheriff’s deputy was caught on a hotel surveillance system sadistically beating his own dog.

Last year we reported on a Hammond police officer who was also caught on camera violently abusing his K-9 partner.*

Correction: This report originally stated that the incident happened in Peoria, IL. It has been updated to reflect that it was Peoria, AZ. The Free Thought Project apologizes for the oversight.

It computes perfectly.

You said it, “””dangerous situation where the cops are getting ready for entry, all the guns are drawn”””

Exactly... and the dog needs to OBEY every command. The cop doesn’t have time to ask him nicely not to charge the first kid inside the house and then call him a goodboy and give in a treat.

If a man is cruel to his own dog, he has no business complaining that ordinary folks don’t trust him with their safety.

I have not one doubt that the department involved will sweep this under the rug and put this deviant back on the streets.

So, when you a possibly armed and dangerous individual in the home, you'd walk over and stand directly in front of the front door, taking the time to discipline doggy?

You're joking right?

In this case its not a “doggy”. Its a tool.
Lives can be lost if the dog does not instantly obey every command.

Dogs don't normally talk. I suspect it's considered safer talking out your roided up aggresion on a dumb animal.

Of course, if I were caught striking one of these animals, I'd be charged with assaulting an "officer". I can't stand cruelty to animals, but such laws are insane.

So you would walk over and stand directly in front of the door of a potentially armed and dangerous suspect, then scold and kick on doggy.

OK! I would have no problem with you doing that.☺

Exactly... and the dog needs to OBEY every command.

Obviously then the dog is not ready for prime time and should receive more training....or perhaps the dog is not really cut out for this work, not all are.

The cop is an ass, stands in front of a door that that are attempting to enter making a target of himself, sounds like he needs some further training too.

That went from kicking to stomping in less than a paragraph.

It might help if you watched the video..........Not certain about the stomping but the whipping and the kick were certainly captured in the video.

Any individual working with a "trained" dog would NEVER result to physical abuse on the animal he is working with............

This cop and his dog need to be separated and the cop never allowed to work with dogs again...........

But these K9s in law enforcement and military are tools. They are not family pets along for the ride. They are expendable tools.

Bet he doesn't abuse his other tools. For instance, what does he do when his gun acts up on the firing range, stomp it into the gravel?

But they have conditioned themselves to realize the K9s are tools.

K9's are indeed tools but physical abuse as exhibited in this video are not appropriate in the handling of these animals.............

It computes perfectly.

What kind of computer ya got?

It's a kill zone. This is no secret.

People get killed in kill zones.

A tiny example:

Three uniformed, on-duty officers were the first deputies to approach the door where shots would be fired Monday night, according to Lucas. "Two of the officers were hit by gunfire," he said at an early morning news briefing. "One died shortly after getting to the hospital." He would not release the officers' names but said both families have been notified. "They knocked on the door," Watson said. "(The suspect) fired multiple rounds through the door, striking two of our deputies." http://www.postandcourier.com/article/20140908/PC16/140909450

The k9s are officers of the law... Attack one, and you assault an officer. It should be the same for partners of such.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

So why does a civilian get life for killing one?

So what are you trying to tell us? Kicking and abusing K-9’s is OK? Care to elaborate on that and how it helps the Law enforcement agency Bucky?

I guess sometimes you just gotta teach a dog a lesson. Kinda like a woman huh Bucky? :-)
