CarPlay is a great piece of software because of its simple design.
Its like using a scaled-down iPhone on your dashboard.
When GM GM demonstrates another companys connected car technology, it does everything it can to make sure the infotainment system doesn’t overshadow its ride. Thats why it demoed Apples CarPlay in Chicago alongside two 2016 Chevy Corvettes.
GMs top-line sports car wasnt on hand solely for flash though. The Corvette was one of the first 4G cars GM debuted this year, and among the first vehicles to get the upgrade allowing it to support both CarPlay and Googles Android Auto. I was one of the few to get a hands-on demo of CarPlay in the Corvette and even test out the system with my own iPhone.
Though I didnt spend enough time with CarPlay to formulate a full opinion, my initial impressions were positive, although I did experience a glitch with Apple Music. Theres nothing mind-blowing about CarPlays interface or design, but its simplicity is whats most compelling about it. The last thing you want to do when driving in rush-hour traffic is deal with complex or unfamiliar dashboard controls. Anyone accustomed to using iOS will have no problem simply plugging their phone in and hitting the road.

GMAFB!!!
Maybe in a volt, Leaf, or Priaps........but a Corvette?
Now you are regressing back to the gold chain disco days of the 70's joke Corvettes. But maybe that is fitting for the types that would want this sort of crap in their car.

There are currently 34 car badges who are going to be including Apple CarPlay in their upcoming models because it beats all the other options and works:

Yes, the 2nd letter in CRUZ is ‘R’ for Republican and the 1st letter is ‘C’ for conservative. It’s clear that conservative workers being held hostage by government motors are sending a message. And it got by the Obama regime’s “minders”.

The types who would want news, traffic info, and music in their car? Gosh, I don’t know anyone like that.

I don’t understand why all the new cars don’t just put a port for your iPhone with maybe an adapter for droids. I’d love to get in set my phone in a port (where the CarPlay is) and go. Much simpler and everyone has a cell now.

Not enough money for them in your proposal.
To: mad_as_he$$
Yeah you’re right. I prefer simpler over the crap they’re putting in now though. I have a 2006 Jag that I’ve never learned how to program. I can’t even set the clock without getting out the owners manual. Lol

And why do you need this much excessive stuff in your car? What news is your phone going to give your car that you can;t already get on talk radio or, if you have satellite, a news station?
Traffic info is usually on 24/7 on a certain station as well. Or, you just open Google maps on your phone and it shows you all the traffic.
And for music, there are plenty of radio stations playing music that you can tune into. Or, if you must listen to your own stuff, just about every radio has an 1/8" input that you can plug your phone into and play music off of it.
Why does your car have to be completely connected and have all this extra stuff that costs more? And what they do is jack up the price for adding this stuff, but then if you want it removed, they charge EVEN MORE to NOT put it in the car!
