Donald Trump and Sarah Palin could be star-studded bedfellows for the GOP after expressing their mutual admiration in recent weeks.
Palin was first out of the gate earlier this month when she jumped to the defense of Trump in the aftermath of the flap that saw him question her former running mate, Arizona Sen. John McCain, and his status as a war hero.
"Both men have more in common than today's media hype would have you believe. Both blazed trails in their careers and love our great nation," Palin said. "Trump is a hero in another arena."
She added, "Trump is the candidate giving voice to untold millions of fed-up Americans witnessing a purposeful destruction of our economy and the equal opportunity for success that made American exceptional."
On Tuesday, Trump said he could see himself offering Palin a position in his administration.
"I'd love that," he told a radio show. "Because she really is somebody who knows what's happening and she's a special person. She's really a special person and I think people know that."
The comments appear to have struck a chord. A blog in the Raw Story outlined nine reasons why Trump should choose Palin as his running mate. Top of the list was their "candid" and "bombastic" styles, the obsession of the media, and the enthusiasm they generate on social media.
After Trump's recent comments, Twitter is alight with commentary. While much of it is mocking, some on social media say they are holding out for a Trump/Palin ticket.
Back in February, Palin joked on "Saturday Night Live 40th Anniversary Show" about a potential bid for the White House with Donald Trump as her running mate.
"Sarah, you're teasing us. That's not nice," Jerry Seinfeld responded.

Bad idea!
Point being, it’s happened before.
I really admire him. I’m really supporting him for Prez but Trump is sucking up all the energy!
Please, no. Cruz is the one for Veep. Palin in the cabinet, fine. But she’s too easy a target after what she’s been through...not to mention the crap some of her children have pulled. No, the cabinet is fine for her, and she’ll take plenty of lowlife flack when she’s nominated fot THAT.
Don’t have to, you can hear the hurumphing all the way from the Senate chambers! Even his former classmates have gone on record saying he’s vain, humorless, and difficult.
I am a huge fan of Palin and Cruz, but I would not vote for any ticket with a Con-Man on it.
..and he was a loser. Anyway, it was a hundred and thirty years ago. No one would do it now. It is not a career enhancement, it is ‘the sign of the loser’. Sarah would be a fool to even consider it.
I DGAS about what the Senate wienies have to say about him. Former classmates? You have to be kidding me.
So he was a loser despite having won on the second try which you claimed had never happened ? Look, man, you made a statement that was demonstrably false (which you didn’t realize). I corrected you on it. You can’t make the claim now because as with VP Hendricks, you don’t know if it’ll happen. If Trump gets the nomination and picks Palin, there will be precedent (and precedent for success) for it regardless of your erroneous prognostication. She’d be a fool to NOT consider the offer, especially since this time, unlike with Cap’n McQueeg, she’d not be muzzled to keep the ticket from winning.
Yeah I was just going over a Boston Globe article where they interviewed dozens of them. “Arrogant and pretentious” as well as “respected for his intellect”. He is clearly a very great lawyer, and having heard him I think rhetorically he is a match for John Edwards (and pretty much that’s all Edwards really had going for him). The article also says he’s noted for being unwilling to yield or compromise, which is great in a courtroom, not so much in the real world.
The article is dated November 10, 2013, written by staff writer, and titled Harvard Law Outsider became Tea Party Hero
I’d paste the link by my device won’t do that.
No one has done it in modern history because it is the SIGN OF THE LOSER. You want to conjure up the NINETEENTH century, then, I suppose you will tell me about William Henry Harrison, who won as a Whig. I suppose that if somebody today ran as a Whig, they would be in good company because it has HAPPENED BEFORE. NO one runs for VP twice, unless they are running for reelection. NO ONE.
LOL. I knew you’d find one if there was one out there.
Hey, I just report history while others lose their $hit because they were in error about it...
I wouldn’t vote for a con man either. I’ve read three of Trumps books so far and a synopsis of another. He is very impressive.

Bill Clinton has a new busty blonde mistress nicknamed "The Energizer" by the secret service agents. Maybe he ought to find one called "The Defibrillator."
I totally agree. I like Sarah, but she would be a drag on the ticket with certain voting blocs. Maybe Ted would too, especially at first, but I think he could overcome it better.
I’ll take your word for it. I’m surprised he’s able to still “perform”, given that the type of surgery(ies?) he’s had on his heart usually limit Bubba’s favorite physical activity. He’ll probably be content to go out like Nelson Rockefeller did (who got himself a pump).
There’s two kinds of FReepers (OK, maybe more, but for the sake of discussion, let’s say there’s two). #1 is a FReeper who makes an honest error in a statement and when corrected graciously acknowledges it. #2, is a FReeper who doesn’t and decides to keep arguing long after just to be an ass because they don’t like being wrong.
We’ll open the floor to voting to decide which category you fit into. Have a nice day.
