Trump, Palin Ticket Could Be A GOP Trailblazer

Donald Trump and Sarah Palin could be star-studded bedfellows for the GOP after expressing their mutual admiration in recent weeks.

Palin was first out of the gate earlier this month when she jumped to the defense of Trump in the aftermath of the flap that saw him question her former running mate, Arizona Sen. John McCain, and his status as a war hero.

"Both men have more in common than today's media hype would have you believe. Both blazed trails in their careers and love our great nation," Palin said. "Trump is a hero in another arena."

She added, "Trump is the candidate giving voice to untold millions of fed-up Americans witnessing a purposeful destruction of our economy and the equal opportunity for success that made American exceptional."

On Tuesday, Trump said he could see himself offering Palin a position in his administration.

"I'd love that," he told a radio show. "Because she really is somebody who knows what's happening and she's a special person. She's really a special person and I think people know that."

The comments appear to have struck a chord. A blog in the Raw Story outlined nine reasons why Trump should choose Palin as his running mate. Top of the list was their "candid" and "bombastic" styles, the obsession of the media, and the enthusiasm they generate on social media.

After Trump's recent comments, Twitter is alight with commentary. While much of it is mocking, some on social media say they are holding out for a Trump/Palin ticket.

Back in February, Palin joked on "Saturday Night Live 40th Anniversary Show" about a potential bid for the White House with Donald Trump as her running mate.

"Sarah, you're teasing us. That's not nice," Jerry Seinfeld responded.

As much as I love Palin, I’d like to see Cruz as VP - if he doesn’t get the top spot which I hope will happen!

I have said this before, and I will say it again. No one ever runs for Vice President twice once they have lost for that office. Why would they? Sarah will NEVER run for Vice President again. It has all the optics of a career loser.

I think he could do better (Palin still doesn’t get it about the media meangurlz), but I would vote for that ticket in a heartbeat (she totally gets governing!).

I think Cruz would be a better choice for a running mate. I think Sarah is great, but I think she would reduce his chances to get certain voters.

I, too, think Cruz should be on the ticket. Palin would make a great Energy Secretary.

Cruz pulls in few Republicans and far fewer Independents and Democrats, there’s nothing in that deal for Trump. Cruz is brilliant, but he’s difficult to work with, kinda stupid about people, ok, paging Dr. Sheldon Cooper, y’know?!

I think Dershowitz was right about him, that he’s the guy you need in government because he will bring up stuff nobody else will that might just be important. My read on the guy is that he needs a boss, under no circumstances should he be the boss.

It’s happened before, and successfully. Indiana Gov. Thomas Andrews Hendricks did. Ran in 1876 on the Dem ticket with NY Gov. Samuel J. Tilden (who won a majority of the actual vote, but lost the Electoral College). He ran again 8 years later in 1884 and was elected this time with NY Gov. Grover Cleveland.

What can Trump do if he can’t say your fired? I don’t think he really knows what it takes in government to get things done.

Thomas Andrews Hendricks. One of history’s all time “winners”.

Give the executive experience this man has, I think he has demonstrated his ability to put together a team to get thinks done. I have read three of his books and a synopsis of another. He knows how to set goals and delegate.

I’m with you miss m—I would like to see Senator Cruz on the ticket—in either spot.

I don't think you can be a real estate developer on Trump's scale and not understand who government works. He's been buying politicians' votes for decades.
