The talent level is inversely proportional to the innovation and pace. NFL is a yawn fest and some players just don't fit in stagnant offenses.

Chris Weinke was saddled with a sucky pro team. While the team record was horrible, Weinke did score an impressive number of rushing touchdowns. If you have a decent quarterback and surround him with a bunch of low talent players, you aren’t going to win.

Chris Weinke had a decent career with the Panthers, and has no business being near number 1.

Tim Tebow’s career was destroyed by the leftist media, which kept any team from building an offense around his skill.
John Fox (who I admire as a coach) crapped on him by picking up Manning what the year after Tebow goes to the Broncos, and they get to the playoffs.

Most Heisman winners, and first overall picks, have this problem. Most of them are stuck on bad teams, and then do poorly.

I agree with the poster above who said the Barry Sanders was the best of the Heisman winners. He did amazing things with a horrendous team around him. Imagine what he would have done with a better team.

I understand that Tebow has been given an opportunity by a pro team and according to the last reports of which I am aware was doing well. I hope he makes it.

He was signed to a contract with the Eagles in the off season and hasn't taken a single snap in practice yet. How is that "doing well"?

After one year? I am no fan of Manziel, but I think it’s stupid to judge a QB over 2 or 3 games. He could still be good. Most are not good immediately.

Not only that he was given the heirs man as a junior, which wasn’t done back then. Knocking out Anthony Davis who was denied the heisman as a junior the year before.
