'Being a fan of Star Trek has given me a life', claims 69-year-old Steve Doman.
The devoted trekkie has spent 14 years transforming his remote Colorado cabin into a Star Trek shrine complete with Klingon and Federation-themed rooms.
Steve has spent a staggering $30,000 on the renovation project - which started as a winter hobby - and says there is still plenty of work to do.

Visited a cabin in Yellowstone that was built by a small stature man that was at the spring of a river. He spent those long winters doing wood work and his place was amazing to see.

Is it wrong to know his video interface is Cardassian?
Forget the theme, I’m impressed with his craftsmanship. All the consoles, frames and counter tops, did he mold the plastics himself or are they made of wood?
Ten years ago I added a 1,000 SF, 3-room addition with a 3-car tuck-under garage to my house for $50,000.
Many people with Asperger’s fill their surroundings with technology or highly detailed models or artwork. Essentially they try to create their own personal world where they feel most comfortable. If you are going to be socially dysfunctional, Asperger’s is probably the way to go.
It’s good to have a hobby and I think there’s a ton of gals that are Trekkies who’d love it - plus- he’s probably not the kind of guy who’s going to be dating every Atarian, Benjoli and Talos 5 woman in the galaxy.

Stop judging him, gawd - he did all that for a paltry 30K? I think he did a great job. Looks just like the set. Good for him. Workmanship and attention to detail is impressive no matter what you’re building. I’m inspired
Who’s judging him? In the article he says he has a mild social disorder that allows him to be creative and fixated on Star Trek.
I love these kind of one-of houses. There a testament to the individual spirit.
I guess mail order pharmacies can’t reach his remote cabin.
If he's got Yoeman Rand (circa 1966) with him he's probably not really that lonely.
