Man Is Killed by Alligator in Texas While Swimming, Despite Warnings From Local Officials Not to
ktla

Orange County Police were called to Burkart’s Marina near the Louisiana state line early Friday morning....

Orange County Justice of the Peace Rodney Price told CNN affiliate KFDM that Woodward ignored verbal warnings and a posted “No Swimming Alligators” sign and seemed to mock the deadly creatures before going in the water.

“He removed his shirt, removed his billfold … someone shouted a warning and he said ‘blank the alligators’ and jumped into the water and almost immediately yelled for help,” Price said.

The “No Swimming Alligators” sign was posted this week after a 10-foot alligator was spotted in the bayou waters.

Witness heard ‘An alligator’s got him’

“Please do not go swimming, there’s a bigger alligator out here. Just please stay out of the water,” witness and marina employee Michelle Wright said she told Woodward.

In the past, I have tried to resist making fun of someone who has died.

On this thread, like a dieter who isn’t thinking about the diet when a bag of cheetos appears in front of him, I jumped in.

But one might suppose it was this guy’s goal in life, with that shirt, the butt, the beer, and the “Blank the Alligator!” exclamation.

I think he died doing what he loved.

So according to the headline, local officials warned people not to be killed...

And apparently the Alligators are behind on the reading curve, or are just rebels who bucked the system and ignored the signs barring them from swimming.

Or perhaps the man misread the sign, and thought,”oh it’s safe now, the are ‘no swimming alligators’ therefore this pond must be a safe place to dip my toes...”

I bet the alligator was VERY happy to see him!

I do wonder how human tastes to alligators. Like chicken?

They still have a limited hunting season. The following 800-pound, 14-foot, 3-inch gator was taken in 2013 by Braxton Bielski, an 18-year-old Cinco Ranch High School senior from Katy, Tx.

Woodward had recently moved to the area from St. Louis with his twin brother

Could having a twin disqualify him for a Darwin? Not fully eliminated from the gene pool.

I have a friend that caught a bunch of baby alligators and released them in to his pond. It turned out, ummmm, poorly to say the least. He nearly never caught them all as they grew and became a dangerous nuisance. A few years after he thought they were all removed Alligatorzilla showed up. He missed one evidently.

Before you ask why would he do this...I have no earthly idea. I’ll just say he was a little bit crazy even for this neck of the woods, lol.

"ESPECIALLY don’t swim in the ocean with wire whisks attached to your ears...the sharks can use them to make hollandaise sauce to pour over you!"

And if it's a shark with a laser beam on its head, it can use the beam to heat the sauce and sear your meaty parts.

Alligators used to be protected and on the endangered species list. Look what happened with that idea!

Some people just don’t have a clear picture of how their actions are going to turn around and bite them in the butt.

Ah, Three Rivers, spent many a happy weekend near there hunting for arrowheads! Never saw any alligators or water. Things change.
