Connecticut is probably the best state in the union in which to live.

Having driven through Greenwich and New Canaan once or twice it's obvious to me that *some* people in the state live pretty comfortably. But then I've driven through Bridgeport once or twice as well.

Also...near perfect climate????

Connecticut is probably the best state in the union in which to live. Near perfect climate, lots of nature yet close enough to the big cities to make Boston or Manhattan a day trip. Other than taxes, there is really nothing to complain about in Connecticut.

With all due respect to your analysis, I left there as soon as possible and never looked back (20+ years). I visit family there from time to time and wonder why anyone would live there.
The nature part is nice, yes, except for the fleas, ticks, mosquitoes, humidity, snow and such.
Architecture and old stuff is fascinating and plentiful.
But the bureaucracy and corruption and oppression is unlivable. My opinion.

That's what makes it perfect. Employment for the illegal aliens and Somalian refugees!

Near perfect climate??? Really??? They have some severe winters there.

Not really. Nebraska has severe winters. Buffalo has severe winters. CT has a few feet of snow. No biggie.

I don’t buy that. His dad has always spent summers in Maine, but has always returned to TX.

I have to laugh, other than being infested with liberals, you probably just listed the two biggest negatives I could think of.

Live nearby, South Kent is very rural. Kent is a small town. Main Street with small shops. Very charming, the motorcycle people love it. It is a conservative town.

Bush's grandfather Prescott Bush was senator from Connecticut. GW Bush was born there. It is the family's home turf. Whether they intend to move back, who knows, but they have roots there for whatever that's worth.

Connecticut has huge taxes. One city in Connecticut has 400 houses for sale. The Governor is a big Democrat and the legislature is majority Democrat. Awful place to live, I live there- we want out.

"Other than taxes, there is really nothing to complain about in Connecticut."

Usually ranked in the top 3 states for taxes. Highly regulated, heavily unionized, high cost of living, decidedly 2A unfriendly...

(New Jersey has all of that, too, but at least it has nice beaches and tomatoes.)

Not interested in the whereabouts of that failed president.

Unless he's getting arrested (along with Obama) for covering up Saudi officials' involvement in 9-11.
