Victory in 2016. The left may well regret this week (vanity)

I think there is a distinct possibility that these two disastrous rulings by the USSC may have finally woken up the sleeping Silent Majority.

The libs are dancing in the streets now but in Nov. 2016, they may be regret getting what they wished for.

The fact is that most blacks and Latinos are against gay marriage.

I think the Dems are in for a major defeat in 2016, on all fronts.

Maybe I'm being optimistic. But I don't think so.

Maine and Maryland both had votes on gay marriage and it was passed by the voters.

Certainly not trying to fight with you, but it isn’t accurate to say voters never voted for gay marriage anywhere. :)

“They like being on the in-crowd list with the sitting president.”

Sure. But all this presupposes that a conservative is going to be nominated and win the general. I see little that indicates that a conservative will be either nominated or win the general election. The nomination process is rigged to steer towards a middle of the road candidate. Given that the kleptocrats in congress do not favor conservatism, they will do all they can to scuttle the election for a nominee they perceive to be “too conservative.” And this all presupposes that the general populace would elect a conservative at all. Those same folks who elected dear leader. Twice.

FR is very conservative. It isn’t reflective of the views or preferences of the population at large.

All this is not to say that conservatism can’t win. Because I think it can. But if you define victory as having a conservative president elected, then plan on disappointment.

those of us who participate in elections do so out of duty.

1. “Piety in place of duty isn’t piety at all”. So, yes, there is a religious aspect to duty.

2. Civics is considered “practical affairs”, not a religious matter. So, no, Christians should not be dogmatic about practical affairs.

Good luck with your new religion, whatever you call it.

I only have one religion, and that is Christianity. Assuming you are Christian as well, your religious duty as well as mine is to render onto caesar. Caesar doesn’t require your vote, and as a matter of fact in most states you have to apply in advance in order to do so.

You speak of a “duty “ to participate in elections Where is this duty outlined? Is there some part of scripture or law that I’ve missed? If so, please let me know. If neither caesar nor God require it, then how is it a duty? Or is this “duty” created whole cloth out of the ether by those who have made electoral politics their new age religion?
