Panspermia fills in a lot of gaps but isn't generally accepted as a theory. The idea is that the ingredients for life existed on asteroids and meteors that hit the Earth during those formative years. There's a case that bombardment from common rocks in our early solar system could mean that the same types of life existed on Mars and Venus early on but Earth was the only planet in the zone where habitable life could thrive.
It would certainly be interesting to find life forms on Mars, even fossils, that indicate life once existed and was similar if not identical to early life forms on Earth.
But it says they possibly solved it! What other proof do you need?!

I think one of the problems explaining the second law is that the words are wrong. Some how, the loss of smoothness and order are equated to chaos and increasing entropy. A perfectly smooth universe without gravitational or temperature differences is the end product of the second law. It is a dead universe from which energy can no longer be extracted and used.
In your example, the evaporated water is the cost of salt crystals. It is an incomplete example.
On Earth, however, entropy does not hold. Species adapt.

Why do you say that?
There is no electrical or chemical reason for those molecules to behave as they do.
The verbs used to describe their actions and interactions are the same verbs that would be used for a sentient being.
Unless these molecules are sentient and conscious, there is no natural explanation for what they do.
The only explanation remaining is that they are directed supernaturally.
Life is a supernatural process.
The natural process takes over at death.
