[VANITY] I'll be traveling to Austin, Texas in the near future and am looking for suggestions for fun, food, history, adventure, and heavy metal, rockabilly, punk, blues, etc.
Be sure to send us postcards. And can you bring back some local cuisine?
Bump for later
6th Street. Best live blues in the country.
I’ll post later .
Visit the statue of Stevie Ray Vaughn. Too bad no one has built a tribute to Doug Sahm.
If you can drive the few miles to Greune, Texas (adjacent to New Braunfels) stop by to see whoever is playing at Greune Hall. Somebody is palying there every night and sometimes you get to see real top talent.
Delbert McClinton is playing June 6, hes always a great show.

Go see the bat flight out from under the Congress Street bridge if they have arrived for the year.
If you handle the wait, get in line for Franklins.
There is one restaurant that you do NOT want to go to. The name slips me but I am going to try and get it from my big sister.
We went to it after my nieces graduation and trust me, everything on the menu was overpriced and did not live up to the pricing.
I hope you survive the darting if the libs happen to dart you. Stay vigilant.......
Look up Iowahawk. He’ll show you a good time.
You can get music anywhere. Go see the bats. They should be back for the summer by now, although it has been a cool spring.
Also, the Texas State Museum

“If you handle the wait, get in line for Franklins.”.......
Damn, ya beat me to it.
Franklins, the best BBQ brisket in the world.
“Go see the bats.”.....
I assume you are referring to the flying kind, not the liberal “dingbats” at the capitol building.
Countless places for music, but visit Antones at least once. Good BBQ everywhere. Spend some ti.e at Zilker Park. Watch the bats fly out from under the Congress Street bridge. Tour the state capitol building.
I’ll 2nd that 6th St. Hut’s Burgers (get the Buffalo), Franklin’s wasn’t there when I lived there but I heard it passes with flying colors.
Lockhart has great BBQ as well, Kreuz BBQ.
Gruene (Green) Hall is OK be wary of the New Braunfels Cops & Comal Sheriff- mind your P’s & Q’s.
Get out of Austin ASAP- Berkley on the Brazos/Lefty Hell except for the Freepers there.
You might check with Basil on out of “City” stuff.
Follow Ranch to Market road 2222 west to Hippy Hollow (you’ve got to zig west a bit on 620, then follow Comanche Trail), and don’t forget to bring your birthday suit for swimming in Lake Travis. Then watch the sunset from nearby Oasis Restaurant, a little intimate dining establishment overlooking the lake. (It only holds about 2500 people.)
Gruene Hall brings in top talent. You may have heard of the singers and bands or not but they are top talent.

Do not read the articles. The libtardness will ooze off the screen and spike your blood pressure. However, the restaurant reviews are ok, and the music reviews are good.
