An Illinois granny savagely battered her grandchildren's cat and four kittens to death with a hammer after the youngsters refused to tidy their rooms, police said.
Josephine Bell allegedly threatened to "take away" the five defenseless animals after getting angry at the children's lack of cleanliness at the family's Godfrey home, reports KTVI.
The 71-year-old is then accused of carrying out her warning on Sunday night.
Bell was busted the next evening after her 13-year-old granddaughter opened her freezer to look for a snack and discovered her dead cat inside.
She texted another relative, who then called cops.
Madison County investigators arrived and Bell allegedly confessed to killing the pets and throwing the kittens in the garbage.
It is not “weird”-it is “criminal”-even out here we call the sheriff on people for animal cruelty-it is a crime. I would not trust a vicious, vile person who is cruel to animals-for any reason-with my kids-would you?
A murdered cat in the freezer doesn’t warrant a report to authorities?

Cruelty to animals is a crime in most states. Killing animals is not.
Cruelty to animals, whether pets or livestock here also involves killing animals by some cruel method-such as hitting them with a hammer-and it isn’t like putting the cat in the freezer wasn’t going to be noticed, or the kids weren’t going to tell anyone-the woman is psycho-I wouldn’t want her around my chickens, never mind my kids or pets.
You need to travel the world more. You have no idea what cruelty to animals really looks like.
Nevermind what this evil witch actually did,...anything less than horror and revulsion as an opinion from the average poster shows just how depraved and evil these times are.

On the farm, unwanted day old kitts were drown. At the time, when I was a young squirt, I thought this was horrible....but this grannie takes the cake.
You can be sure, the kids will never forget this.
I’ve never been in Korea and eaten dogs or cats, but I do hunt, I grew up on a ranch, and I live in a rural area. I was a military wife for quite a few years-so I’ve been around a bit-it isn’t wise to make presumptions about where someone you don’t know has traveled.
One instance of cruelty to animals is what is described in that article-do you consider yourself an authority on the subject who is sure that the other posters here and I are incorrect or uninformed?
